Risotto was on the menu today for our harvest to plate session. Such a tasty way to incorporate a variety of fresh greens: purple cauliflower from the polytunnel, spinach, onions, purple and green mangetout from the garden, chives and parsley from the Orchard. It was delicious!

A reminder that this is on tomorrow!! You don't need to bring clothes to this event if you don't have any to share at the moment. As well as swapping clothes you can find out how to mend them or reuse fabrics or simply browse through a range of good quality, new items of clothinv and make a donation to EATS.

Did you know that by adopting a pre-loved pair of jeans and a t-shirt instead of buying new, you could save 10,000 litres of water (as well as quite a few pennies!)

Join us at EATS Hub & EATS Living Room Cafe for a climate friendly clothes swap, mini clothes repair cafΓ© and textile upcycling demos.

Bring along clean, good-quality clothes you no longer wear and swap them for something new-to-you. Alternatively bring clothes that have seen better days and get tips on how to fix them, or if they're too far gone, turn them into something useful or pretty. Give fabrics a second life, help the environment and your local community!

This drop-in event will take place in the EATS Hub on Tuesday 16th June, 2:30-4:30pm and is part of the Fife Climate Festival.

Find out more about the festival and the events taking place in your area at https://fccan.org.uk/fife-climate-festival-2026/

The Fife Climate Festival is led by Fife Climate Hub (FCCAN) with support from Climate Action Fife and funded by the Scottish Government.

community garden day! β˜€οΈ I love June, with some lucky sun we managed to get quite a bit done and had so many people in todayπŸ’™πŸŒ· 10/06/2026

Yesterday one of our volunteers decided to capture herself volunteering at EATS Greenspaces. Thank you Yasmine for this lovely reel demonstrating what we get up to - no two days are ever the same, but it's always an uplifting experience πŸ˜πŸ’š

We had a brilliant busy day in the EATS Greenspaces today giving our borders, perennial bushes and fruit bushes some much needed TLC, cutting grass, overgrown hedges and removing lots of weeds - as you can tell by the pics our compost will get well fed this week!
For lunch we had sandwiches, lettuce and mint tea (grown by us of course) which smelled a lot nicer than the nettle & comfrey teas we made to feed our plants...
We also had an impromptu visit from a local nursery - the children planted some poppies and then went exploring the fairy garden accompanied by Julien's ukulele.
A brilliant team effort as always πŸ’š

At this time of year, there's nowhere better to be than outdoors, and this is especially true for the little ones and their families β€” there is always lots to play with and explore up in the EATS Centenary Orchard, friends to make and fresh air(and snacks!) to enjoy. It certainly beats being cooped up in a noisy hall! β˜€οΈπŸŒ³
Treetots runs Mondays 10-11:30.

It's impossible to share everything that goes on in the EATS Greenspaces, as there's just so much happening, and sometimes it's the little things that mean the most. So here's a slightly different post than usual, focussing on just one volunteer's experience.

This is Jamie who volunteers with us on a Tuesday. Yesterday he worked hard at making a new flower bed, guided by Martin, another of our volunteers. Jamie built it up with bricks then filled it with compost, he felt really proud of himself and quite rightly so. After this he headed to the Orchard where he caught up with the other volunteers and made and enjoyed his own pizza for lunch. His carer told us that coming to EATS is Jamie's favourite part of the week. He loves talking with staff and volunteers, the involvement and being part of something.

Well done Jamie, and well done to all who volunteer with us - we could have written so many different posts about everyone else too!

Lots going on today, both at the EATS Community Garden and the EATS Centenary Orchard. There was lots of cutting grass, strimming and weeding as the warm humid weather accompanied by the showers has fairly made everything shoot up. Some of our fresh salad leaves, radishes and flowers were taken to the EATS Hub & EATS Living Room Cafe to add to their menu and we also used some of them in our "Harvest to Plate" session today. 20 people made their own pizza, adding toppings including rocket, spinach, nasturtium leaves, chive flowers, courgette flowers or even oyster mushrooms, all grown on site!
This is what Community Gardening is all about.πŸ’š
