Another consumer unit change. This was a holiday let in Hornsea. Lovely place and fantastic customer.
The property also underwent a full smoke/fire alarm system install.

WTF Friday!
Hey guys here we have a potentially very dangerous situation.
This used to be connected to an immersion heater. The "plumbers" have been in and "disconnected" it as the client had a combi boiler installed.

The customer had since converted the old cupboard into a wardrobe. As the fuse had not been removed and flex left in place, if the customer accidentally switched it on she could have received a very nasty electric shock.

Plumbers, stop messing with electrics!

This was a really nice little consumer unit change in Hull. Really happy with the results considering how the cables came in and the amount of space there wasn't.

Hey guys check out these little beauties.
Absolutely everything wrong with these. I cant believe the property hadn't burnt down before. Obviously DIY Dave has been managing the electrics here.

Lets talk lighting.
If you still have old incandescent, fluorescent or halogen lights installed then this is for.

These old lights produce quite a lot of heat which leads to damage over time and in some cases, a complete meltdown or even a fire.

I strongly advise having any of this type of light fitting replaced with or converted to LED. Especially as, from February next year, the majority of the replacement lamps(light bulbs) currently available will be officially banned.

You may have already noticed it being harder to find replacements in the shops.

Is holding on to them really worth the fire risk?

WTF FRIDAY
You never know what is lurking beneath your floorboards.
A mouse, a rat, or just a pile big pile of dodgey electrics waiting for the right moment to catch fire...
