Employee Theft

Zurich Insurance reported that National figures in the UK reveal almost 6,000 workers were caught stealing from their employer in 2022, this up from 5,000 the year before. This is on average 500 incidents of employee theft every month!

Remember Matt Hancock kissing his colleague? That was a prime example of an internal covert camera 👀

Recently there was a discussion around the placement of covert cameras inside peoples homes in a group.

Following a recent case it was asked if it is legal to place a covert camera in the bedroom and it is definitely not. Of course we discussed the morality of it too and we all agreed it is definitely not moral either!

If there ever was a basis it could be justified then it would have to be very serious conditions. The only one such situation we can think of is to evidence heinous domestic violence. Even then, it would likely be possible to evidence DV in other less intrusive ways.

This information does not involve baby monitors, however we have heard of them being used by people to try and catch their partners out..

Being a private investigator must be so cool!

We hear that a lot when meeting new clients and other businesses.

It can be jet setting off into the sun but it really can be the complete opposite especially with our toilet breaks!

Unlike in America private investigators do not require to be licenced in the UK.

There are very good agencies across the UK including Delta 74 but the best way to size up a service provider is to check they are registered with trade bodies and have solid practices and policies in place.

Not quite the newest technology on the market now but drones have been game changing in lots of industries including Private Investigations.

The use of drones must be lawful and used over public land filming activities being carried out on public land exactly the same as normal cameras are utilised.

No, they don't.

CCTV and Google Street View both produce imagery, sometimes without people's knowledge whilst in the public domain which is completely legal. During surveillance tasks we operate in the same way.

This in a nut shell is an investigation to discover, prove or disprove who is living at an address.

The most common example is divorcing partners who claim to be living alone whilst actually living with their new partner in turn avoiding having to pay extra in things such as council tax!
