A Gauge 1 Bing for Bassett Lowke clockwork LNWR Precursor Tank Locomotive 4-4-2 No. 44.

Bit of a different project to what I usually get up to with this one:
This majestic clockwork engine belonged to a friend's father, but sadly it had at some point been sat in a lot of water, and the whole lower half was immensely corroded.

Thankfully, with a bit of TLC, time, and elbow grease, I've managed to sensitively restore it back to its former glory!

A video of it running with follow suit...

A few close-ups of the trackwork on my colliery micro-layout.
These photos are taken from ground level from the scenic break end of the scene.
The entire layout is .model.railways Code 75 bullhead rail.

I'm a big believer in spending time on the basics (in this case, the groundwork) to make the whole scene feel as close to reality as physically possible.

A long overdue update on the colliery micro-layout...

More details have been picked out, with the "high-ground" nearing completion. The buildings on the right hand side have had their roofs painted, but they are yet to be weathered into the landscape.

I'm really pleased with the point hand levers in their coat of weathered off-white!

All questions/comments are welcome!

Deckard's Blaster - Blade Runner (1982)

After a long dry spell in the creative department, my summer holiday gives me a welcome break to crack on with one of my many projects.

I'm over the moon with the finish I've achieved on this replica prop blaster carried by Harrison Ford's character in the timeless sci-fi classic. This prop also makes a comeback in the 2017 sequel (Blade Runner 2049). Both films are well worth a watch if you haven't seen them!

I used parts from Tip Top Workshop as a basis for this build, and I can't recommend their products enough! They are a fantastic small UK business.

(Please note, this is a non-functioning prop, and complies with UK law)

Creating this idyllic branch line terminus helped the builder not only fulfil his ambition to build a model railway, but also complete his first year at Art College. πŸ‘¨β€πŸŽ“
