On Friday I had the honour of conducting Safeguarding training for a fabulous local pre-school. There was a lot of discussion with regards to the scenarios and excellent end of course test results! All passed with flying colours.

The times they are a changing….

⏰ 7 days to go: We are almost there. On Wednesday, October 22, the European Resuscitation Council will launch the Guidelines on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation 2025 before the ERC Congress in Rotterdam.

I use laerdal manikins. They were the doll of choice when I was nursing.

This is the fascinating story behind Resusci Anne, the world’s first life-saving resuscitation dummy, invented after her maker's son had a near death experience... In 1960, Norwegian toymaker Åsmund Lærdal began selling his latest invention - a life-size training dummy designed to teach mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. We’re pleased to announce that the updated UK Resuscitation Guidelines will be published at midday on Monday 27 October 2025.

The revised guidelines will reflect the latest evidence and best practice in resuscitation science across all age groups. They are designed not only to improve survival and outcomes following cardiac arrest, but also to enhance patient and family experiences through compassionate, person-centred care.
