One week to go until the Physical Fellowship Festival at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, the UK's only physical theatre festival for young people. Don't miss your chance to witness this year's theme - United, an opportunity for young performers to re-write narratives of division and disparity in our society and throughout history, asking: Does equality truly exist? Can we ever be united?
For the 2026 headline performance Sprung Advance Plus dives into these questions through a darkly reimagined Victorian London, inspired by Oliver Twist. The new devised piece follows a young Bill Sykes, revealing how poverty and privilege predetermine lives and choices. Through Highly Sprung’s signature physical storytelling, the performance exposes the forces that shape a child’s fate when wealth dictates opportunity.

This year, Highly Sprung’s Physical Fellowship explores the theme United, an opportunity for young performers to re-write narratives of division and disparity in our society and throughout history, asking: Does equality truly exist? Can we ever be united?
At the heart of this theme lies a powerful question: can we reach a state where everyone is equal- in status, rights, and opportunity? Or does disparity, the unfair difference between people’s lives, continue to define our world?

We are delighted to share our achievements of our first full year (March 2025 to April 2026) of work on our sustainability action plan at Highly Sprung.
Don't let the word 'Basic' for the Theatre Green Book fool you—meeting this standard is a massive win. Meeting these targets means over half of our productions are built from circular materials, putting us at the forefront of the industry's transition to a sustainable future.
Our year of progress has been made possible with support and resource from West Midlands Combined Authority, Theatre Green Book, You Smart Thing, Without Walls UK, Lorna Rees, The Carbon Literacy Project, our Board and wider team.
