Committee Member News: Five & ‘Harry’ Go Large In Brum For Nationwide Windows 40th!!
full link: https://www.ccfpa.co.uk/?p=144569 (with video's)
The night after CCFPA’s Golf Day 2026 a great evening was put on in Birmingham by Rugby based company Nationwide Windows and Doors (one of the Association’s corporate sponsors) to celebrate the company’s 40th birthday and a number of our committee were lucky enough to have an invite!
The evening was attended by CCFPA Chairperson Sarah Morris and committee member husband Richard Morris, President Kirk Stephens, CCFC Legend Dave Bennett (both of course also Former Player members of the Association).
Also there, both also CCFPA members, long time club host Brian ‘Harry’ Roberts (with partner Lorraine Harper) and former Sky Blue defender David Busst (long time CCFC’s Director of Community Affairs) and his wife Susan. Sadly past CCFPA Chairman Billy Bell was indisposed and unable to go.
A great time was had by all as the evening was kicked off with a champagne reception and a welcome from comedian Jason Manford and an amazing meal. Jason then did a set which had a packed room in stitches and then their was a wonderful firework display on the lake outside.
The evening ended with dancing to a ten piece band. Sarah tells us this was, “an amazing night with amazing company“. Sarah and the Association send their thanks (and much love) to Daryl Cashmore Director of Nationwide Windows who invited our band of CCFPA committee & FP members
The pictures and videos here supplied by Sarah & Richard show the good time had by all especially our CCFPA members
Clicking on the videos show the band, a string trio and the firework display. Enjoy!
Darryl’s business can be found here http://nwd.co.uk and at [email protected] Tel. 01788 224466. Once again, thank you Daryl from all at CCFPA!

Another of the Association successful annual Golf Days, GD26 hosted by our friends at Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club, came to fruition on Thursday 4th June with (as usual) the presentation of prizes and awards. Following an excellent 18 holes the most of the 23 Sky Blue Former Players stayed on to attend the excellent evening meal laid on by SDPGC.
Tom Welby (Top Scorer) (Amber Security)
All this week we have been chronicling the various stages of GD26, possibly our biggest and best yet, from the arrival of the competitors, the action on the course through to the evening’s festivities. We have shared images of all the competing teams out on the course as well as the evening ‘fun and games’ in the presence of FPs, team member plus some additional non-playing guests.
Chay’s Prize
Chay Thompson – Former Player/Coach Winner
This included a raffle and auction conducted by CCFPA’s Billy Bell and chairperson Sarah Morris, interviews at table by Billy with some of the ‘stars of the past and a magic show expertly conducted by one of the GD26 sponsors Angus Baskerville
Now we share images of the prize award ceremony, the winners have already been highlighted in an earlier post showing a chart of all the ‘runners and riders’.
The headliners for the individual awards were Tom Welby (of the Amber Security Team) who got the overall top score of 40 for the 18 hole round beating the best Former Player (actually ex CCFC U23 coach) Chay Thompson (partnering the Leamington & Warwick Supporters Club team) on 38.

Ex Sky Blue player Dave Jones playing with Amber Security won the veteran FP Prize with a score of 30!
Dietmar Bruck proud Wooden Spoonist!
The ‘Wooden Spoon’ prize (albeit over 9 holes) was gracefully accepted by ex Sky Blue hero (and CCFPA committee member) Dietmar Bruck (partnered with the Reg Machin team)!
As well as the overall individual prizes there were gold, silver and bronze awards on offer for the best team score (and runners up) we we show below.
The team with the best score was that captained by ex Sky Blue Tom Davies.
1st. Top Team w. Tom Davies
Runners up was The Nest team partnered by Jack Burroughs who sadly could not stay for the dinner so the prize was presented by CCFPA’s Lee Cowell!
Third place went to the Matthew Masters team partnered by ‘Cov Kid’ FP Gary McSheffrey.
CCFPA’s Lee presents 2nd place to The Nest team
3rd Team: Matthew Masters Team with Gary McSheffrey

Thanks to CCFPA’s Richard Morris for the photos of another successful Golf Day!

CCFPA Golf Day 2026 Pt.7a – Our GD Guests Enjoy A Raffle & Auction
full link: https://www.ccfpa.co.uk/?p=144544
As part of the post match entertainments and evening dinner laid on by our hosts Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club and our hard working committee members the guests in a packed club house were treated to a raffle and auction of sporting memorabilia conducted by CCFPA’s mein host Billy Bell in aid of Association funds.
The diners were as generous as the donors of prizes and raffle items in raising a goodly sum in aid of all the work we do in mounting our annual events like Legends Day and Golf Day as well as promoting the interests, health and welfare of our former players (plus supporting other charities), fostering links between the club, its fans and the wider Sky Blue family and CCFC’s former players and staff and fostering the heritage of CCFC.
Here are some photos (taken by CCFPA’s Richard Morris) of this part of the evening.

CCFPA Golf Day 2026 Pt. 6b – On A Magical Day Angus Baffles Our FP Guests!
full link: https://www.ccfpa.co.uk/?p=144528
As reported in previous posts CCFPA held a wonderfully successful Golf Day 2026, another in its long run of successful annual sporting reunions last Thursday. Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club once more were brilliant hosts as 23 Former Players and a similar number of teams of 3 Sky Blue fans (each with an integrated FP) played some exhilarating golf in between chatting and reminiscing.
Angus mystifies guests with some magic
Post match an evening of entertainments including a slap up meal, refreshments, interviews, a raffle and auction and a prize award ceremony had all been laid on by SDPGC and members of our hard-working Association committee.
Angus does more magic at table
As for GD 25 last year a special and magical entertainment came from a member of the family of one of the GD26 sponsors (who had put out a team earlier in the day). Angus Baskerville, a member of the Magic Circle bamboozled and entertained FPs and guests alike with feats of prestidigitation which baffled all those that saw it.
Angus thanked us after the event in the above Facebook post from his site and we produce some of his photos here as he clearly met a significant number of the Sky Blues ‘stars of the past’ and took selfies with them – below. (Did they remember what had happened afterwards? Only they will know after a magical interlude in their day!!)
All that remains to produce a photo record of GD26 in subsequent posts is the prize award ceremony to finish off a great and memorable day for all concerned. So, check back tomorrow for further posts.

Golf Day 2026 Pt. 6a Interviews & More Scenes From the Evening Dinner
https://www.ccfpa.co.uk/?p=As mentioned in our previous posts, after the excellent sporting competition out on the course at our brilliant hosts at Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club last Thursday, players (including a record 23 CCFC FPs) sat down to an thoroughly appetising evening meal and many further entertainments.
This included a bamboozling show from local magician Angus Baskerville (who’s family sponsored a team), an auction and raffle of memorabilia and the prize award ceremony all of which we will cover in subsequent posts today and tomorrow.
As promised here are some more images from CCFPA’s Rich Morris showing scenes from the GD26 dinner showing general shots of all the guests enjoying the refreshments, meal and entertainment (as well as the reminiscing and general chat).
First there are just a few images of the several jocular interviews during dinner with individual ‘stars of the past’ undertaken by CCFPA’s Billy Bell who also played a big part with Rich and Associayion Chairperson Sarah Morris in making the whole day such a success!

CCFPA Golf Day 26- Pt.5: Its Magic! Players & Guests Share An Evening Meal
full link: https://www.ccfpa.co.uk/?p=144413
After a strenuous but enjoyable 18 holes more most players (only 9 for some) out on the challenging SDGC course last Thursday all the GD26 participants, as usual, could look forward to an excellent evening dinner offered by CCFPA’s friends at Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club.
All the players from 23 teams (all but one with a former CCFC player or coach supplementing the team of three) plus another FP Ian Goodwin, several committee members (including Lee Cowell who had played) and a goodly number of additional guests (including CCFPA President Joe Elliott) not only sat down to an excellent dinner but also some brilliant entertainment.
This included CCFPA’s Billy Bell singling out some of our ‘stars of the past’ for a jocular interview, a raffle and auction of sporting memorabilia and prizes as well as a magic show which was as last year conducted expertly by local magician Angus Baskerville, a former CCFPA Associate Member, (whose family also had sponsored a team).
Angus baffled many a FP and guest with tricky feats of prestidigitation touring some of the tables!
We offer some photos on this page of this stage of the evening for your enjoyment taken by CCFPA’s Rich. Morris. See who you can spot! We will show you more pictures of the dinner (including some of the interviews in a later post).
Perhaps the highlight of the evening was the prize presentation ceremony which capped off another successful Legends Day. We have already revealed the winner in a separate post but will cover this photographically in a subsequent one tomorrow.

CCFPA Golf Day 2026 -Pt.2 On The Course – Team Photos (4)
full link: http://www.ccfpa.co.uk/?p=144300
Last Thursday’s Association’s Golf Day 2026 brilliantly hosted, as usual, by our friends at Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club was another resounding success enjoyed by almost certainly a record number of 23 teams, each joined by a CCFC star of the past.
Craig Pead strikes one
They were competing for a number of prizes including the coveted individual and team awards for the best round over 18 holes. After gathering early at the course and enjoying morning refreshments (including bacon butties) they tee’d off in succession.
Most teams began their 18 holes at the first tee but time considerations meant a few started at the 10th. In our posts yesterday we provided photos of the first dozen teams (in alphabetical order of the Former Player attached to them) and earlier today six more. Here are the remaining quartet!
We will reveal more details about the competing teams and the overall winners in later posts tomorrow.
Thanks to CCFPA’s Richard Morris for the photos of the competitors before action got underway.
