We are a welcoming and inclusive church!

Join us for worship at 10:30 every Sunday morning, usually followed by a cuppa and a chat - we also have a range of weekday / weekend activities for young and 'more mature' alike!

Angie celebrated her 70th birthday and Janette her 80th at SCC's Lunch Club yesterday - happy birthdays to both!
The club celebrated with lunch out at our friendly neighbourhood pub, The Holyhead.
A good time had by all!

Another thinking point for today.
How do we respond to being challenged, or questioned, or redirected, or even blatantly corrected?
Sometimes, things in our past can lead to us becoming very defensive, and it takes a lot of effort to break free from the influence of such experiences.
We'll never get everything right, all of the time - and that's ok.
We learn, we grow - we work together, we celebrate each other's strengths and we recognise our own.

Good morning, all!
Well, England finally got to beat Croatia in a World Cup setting (there will probably be a few sore heads this morning, so speak quietly to everybody!)
We're starting with a prayer from our lovely friends in Western Australia.
It's refugee week -
https://refugeeweek.org/ tells you more about it - and we start out day with a prayer shared by St. Paul's.
Let's spend some time thinking about how we each view refugees, what God says about refugees, how we respond to refugees - including the one who had to flee to Egypt.

Prayer for Refugee Week
God of a thousand faces, help us also to acknowledge
you are worshipped in many languages,
in different songs and rhythms of life from our own.
May we respect these religious insights in each other
and assist each faithful expression of you.
We rejoice in you, God, in whose image
we are brothers and sisters
and by whose example in Jesus Christ
we know the breadth and depth of your universal love. Amen

Many, many congratulations to Blue Coat CofE School and Music College here in Coventry!
It's one of very few schools with a full-time chaplain, and it overtly expresses its Christian values while also welcoming and respecting people of other faiths or none.
This morning's celebration ended with a fantastic song from the 6th Form Worship Band - how great to remember to give thanks to Jesus during the celebrations!

Today is National Thank a Teacher Day in the UK, and it's highly likely that you will have a teacher (or teachers) from your childhood who stays in your memory for all the best reasons.

Give them a mention in the comments - and tell us why they deserve a 'thank you.'

Let's not forget the greatest teacher ever to walk this earth.
Thank you Jesus.
