Super tidy Astra J VXR back in for a map tweak. Already on our software, just needed some adjustments.

Running a hybrid turbo, exhaust, intercooler and intake. Finished up at 344hp and 380ft-lb.

Strong result, but the hybrid turbo was a bit disappointing on this one. A healthy J VXR on the stock turbo with the same bolt-ons will do 330 to 340hp, so the hybrid hasn't added much.

"Hybrid turbo" is a really vague term. It just means something has been changed from stock and not all of them are created equal.

2019 Audi Q5 45 TFSI in with us recently for a stage 1 custom tune.

No mods on this one at all, just software.

Stock: 240hp / 265ft-lb
Tuned: 300hp / 320ft-lb

60hp and 55ft-lb gained from a remap alone.

The 2.0 TFSI in these responds extremely well to tuning and the gains make a noticeable difference to how the car drives.

Finally got round to tuning my own car. Mk7 Golf GTI, stock GPF model + Sprogley Motorsport intake kit.

Stock: 245hp / 310ft-lb
Tuned: 306hp / 360ft-lb

Kept the boost fairly low on this one. A couple of Nurburgring trips planned, so I wanted to know that I can beat down on it all day without thinking twice.

61hp and 50ft-lb gained on a conservative tune with the stock turbo.

There's more in it, another 10-20hp and 10-20ftIb quite comfortably.

Audi S3 8Y 2.0 TFSI in with us recently for a custom ECU and TCU tune.

The latest generation EA888 Gen 4 engine responds amazingly to tuning and this S3 is a perfect example. Fitted with R600 intake this car went on to make some unreal gains.

Stock: 330hp / 300ft-lb
Tuned: 421hp / 420ft-lb

91hp and 120ft-lb gained. The numbers on these really do speak for themselves.

The TCU tune is a big part of the story on the newer S3s. The ECU tune unlocks a lot of extra torque, but the stock DQ381 gearbox calibration isn't set up to handle it. Without increased clutch clamping pressures, we would have to run a lower torque map on the engine side to keep things safe.

The TCU tune solves that, increasing the clutch pressures so the gearbox can cope with the extra torque properly and letting us run the full calibration on the ECU side.

On these cars the TCU tune isn't just a nice addition, it's pretty much essential to get the most out of the engine tune.

Audi S3 8V 2.0 TFSI in with us recently for a stage 1 custom ECU and TCU tune.

Only mod on this one was an APR cone intake, other than that a standard car.

Stock: 308hp / 310ft-lb
Tuned: 371hp / 380ft-lb

63hp and 70ft-lb gained.

The EA888 platform responds really well to tuning and these S3s are always a great example of that. Strong, consistent gains without needing to throw a load of parts at it.

The TCU calibration alongside the engine tune allows for sharper shifts, better paddle response and more engaging drive.

2021 Audi A4 35 TFSI Hybrid in for stage 1 software.

Not all of these can be tuned at the moment, many have a locked ECU variant, however the results on these are hard to ignore.

Stock: 147hp / 199ft-lb
Tuned: 244hp / 310ft-lb

97hp and 110ft-lb gained from software alone. No hardware changes at all. That's nearly a 66% increase in power from just a remap.

The mild hybrid system still works away in the background, so you keep the efficiency too. Just a much more enjoyable car to drive.

Renault Megane RS 250 in for a custom dyno tune.

Intake and exhaust fitted, tuned on 95 RON at the customer's request.

Before: 260hp / 260ft-lb
After: 297hp / 330ft-lb

70ft-lb of extra torque is where you really feel it on these.

Could it make more on 99? Yes, but not everyone wants to rely on finding 99 every time they fill up.

BMW 118i 1.5L in for a custom tune.

Stock: 136hp / 162ft-lb
Tuned: 188hp / 220ft-lb

52hp and 58ft-lb gained from software alone.

A real, noticable difference in day to day driving.

Not every tune has to be about chasing big numbers. Sometimes it's just about making the car you drive every day that bit more enjoyable.

Mk8 Golf R in with us recently for OEM+ ECU and TCU software.

The latest 2.0TSI EA888 Gen 4 responds incredibly well to tuning.

Most of the Golf Rs we've had on the dyno do come in a bit over the factory claimed figures, and this one was no different, starting out at 323hp and 320ft-lb.

With no hardware mods fitted at all, just the OEM+ ECU and TCU tune, it went on to make 404hp and 400ft-lb.

A massive jump from software alone on a completely standard car.

The matched TCU calibration is a big part of what makes the package work so well.

It's not just sharper shifts and better paddle response, the increased clutch pressures help the gearbox cope properly without slipping the DSG clutches.

The owner also opted for the RacingLine PDM device, which plugs into the OBD port and connects through an app.

It gives them the option to flash between the OEM+ tune and stock whenever they want, along with datalogging, fault code reading, and live data monitoring.

If you're interested in RacingLine OEM+ software for your car, drop us a message.

This Mk8 Fiesta ST 1.5T was in with us recently for a custom dyno tune.

A really nice strong car to start with, making 208hp and 220ft-lb on the stock map.

The 1.5T responds really well to just software, and with only a cat-back exhaust fitted this one went on to make 252hp and 280ft-lb once finished.

An extra 44hp and 60ft-lb in this chassis makes it a completely different car.

We also added some enhanced overrun to give it a bit more character, nothing over the top, just a slight extension of what these already do from the factory.
