Sorry for the silence from us here at AskVerity recently.

I’ve been settling into a new permanent role with Stark Building Material as part of their talent acquisition team for the last 6 weeks. I’m loving life and me and Mr AskVerity have just had a wonderful weekend in Rome 🇮🇹

Now I’m settled into a routine with work I’m now ready to take on new CV clients and interview coaching clients.

An update from Verity of AskVerity here.

I’ve had the pleasure of developing and running AskVerity for the last 3 and a bit years. The last 6 months have been hard, the economy has been difficult and I’ve struggled to find consistency with my corporate clients as recruitment is bottom of the agenda for a lot of companies right now.

I took the decision at the back end of 2025 to return to full time employment. I’m very pleased to announce that I have now secured a Talent Acquisition role with a company in Coventry and I start next week.

I will still be offering CV Writing and Interview Coaching services on a part time basis but I will no longer be providing consultancy, recruitment or outplacement support to businesses. Just give me a few weeks to settle into my new roles first though please 😆

A HUGE thank you to all of my clients over the last 3 years. AskVerity has been an amazing chapter in my life and something I’ll always hold close to my heart. 🙏🏻❤️

I spent Thursday last week at Moat House Leisure Centre in Coventry with Coventry Job Shop and the job centre supporting their

It was such a humbling event, and I met some really great talent from our city who are currently looking for work.

One young man particularly stood out to me. He's looking for warehouse work, and rather than just sitting behind a laptop firing out applications, he told me he's been out to his local industrial estate and handed out CVs to prospective employers. This really stood out to me as someone who is going above and beyond to find a role and to get himself back into work.

I think recruitment and hiring have become faceless and impersonal just lately with the introduction of AI. What's at the heart of recruitment is people, and I feel that is forgotten all too quickly.

People are struggling to find jobs right now. The market is quiet, and we have some really talented people in the UK who just can't find work, and to me, that feels so wrong!

I just want to wish everyone out there looking for work all the very best. Keep going, keep plugging away, and the right thing will come up, but try, if you can, to stand out from the crowd, think outside the box. How can you get yourself noticed in a busy and competitive market?

Great time today spent at CoventryJobFest at Moat House Leisure Centre.

I got to meet some fantastic talent in our fabulous city 🩵🩵🩵 I was able to give some on the spot CV guidance and advice to help some people with their job hunts.

Nice to be able to give back to the local community. 🙏🏻

I was having a conversation with Mr AskVerity last week about one of his friends from the gym who's sadly being made redundant - I said to Mr AV 'So after you'd listened to what was going on for him, you obviously then pointed out what I do, yes'............well no, actually he didn't!! 🫣

It suddenly occured to me that if my own husband isn't connecting the dots then maybe my lovely connections on LinkedIn aren't either.........so, just to clarify......if someone is facing redundancy, I would love to speak to them as I have an entire toolbox I can delve into to help support them. To include: -

👉 CV writing - I can help them develop a tailored, ATS-optimised, standout CV to get them into the job market.

👉 Job hunt coaching - if they haven't been on the job market in the last 3 years - believe me, things have changed A LOT, and I can help them to navigate their search.

👉 LinkedIn optimisation and training - I can help to get their LinkedIn profile sparkling and standing out in what is a very challenging job market.

👉 Interview training - I offer interviewing coaching and training for competency-based interviews, which they will more than likely face during their job hunt.

👉 Recruitment - yes, I'm a recruiter - have been for 20 years, even if I don't have a suitable role for them, I can point them in the direction of other recruiters and job boards.
