What is this lobster?🤔👇🏼..
We get the European lobsters on our coast and they are a dark blue, these are the ones we usually find when foraging 🔵
However this variation of lobster is occasionally found by commercial fishermen in pots out on deeper reefs, it’s thought that it’s a genetic variation which naturally occurs, but is rare 😍
Lobsters seem to be made up from a mixture of red and blue pigments which is why a standard lobster appears dark blue 🦞
If the red pigment is missing it appears blue & pink just like this one! 🤯
Sometimes they can be found red or orange and this is when the blue pigment is missing! 🍊
So to find one of these lobsters in a rockpool is pretty rare! 🙏🏻

16 years later and we are still trying to catch that fish 😂
Growing up down here we have been very fortunate to live so close to the coast, where fishing missions with dad were often even if we didn’t have a clue! We only have a bit more of a clue now but still love it the exact same! 🎣🫶🏽
Getting out on the rocks and exploring our coastline has always been one of our favourite activities, discovering new spots and going to places we’ve never been! Taking a fishing rod with you almost makes you see it in a new light when you look at structure from a fishes perspective 🐟

It’s always a good mission when me and can both get out for a session together 🙌🏽
