🌺 LEST WE FORGET | NARROW WATER 1979 🌺

Yesterday, Thursday 27 August, RBL Cookstown Branch Piper Bert Harkness had the privilege of taking part in the Commemoration Service at Narrow Water, Warrenpoint, with Frontier Pipes & Drums, in memory of those who lost their lives in the Narrow Water bombings on 27 August 1979.

As part of this solemn Act of Remembrance, Bert played The Lament, paying tribute to those who died and ensuring their memory continues to be honoured with the dignity and respect they deserve.

We are extremely proud to see Bert representing RBL Cookstown Branch at such a poignant occasion. The sound of the pipes has long held a special place in remembrance, and a lone lament provides a particularly moving opportunity for reflection.

Our thoughts remain with the families, friends and comrades of all those whose lives were lost or forever changed by the events at Narrow Water 47 years ago.

Thank you, Piper Bert Harkness, for representing our Branch and for honouring their memory through your music.

🌺 At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. Lest We Forget 🌺
