A Cherry Through Time 🍒

Did you know cherries have been enjoyed for over 2,000 years?

Cherries were first recorded in 72 BC when they were brought to Rome from northeastern Anatolia.

Centuries later, Henry VIII introduced cherries to Sittingbourne, Kent, after tasting them for the first time in northern Belgium.

From ancient history to modern orchards, cherries have certainly travelled the world before reaching our fruit bowls.

The Journey from Tree to Table 🌳🍒

Growing great cherries takes time.

A cherry tree typically takes 3 - 4 years after planting to produce its first crop and around 7 years to reach full maturity.

While the UK cherry season runs from June to August, we work with growers around the world - including the USA, Chile, Argentina, Spain, South Africa and Australia - allowing us to supply cherries for 46 weeks of the year.

A global journey, delivering delicious cherries for most of the year.

From Blossom to Harvest 🌸🍒

There’s something magical about cherry season.

In April, orchards burst into bloom with delicate white flowers, buzzing bees and drifting butterflies creating a truly breathtaking scene.

By July, the cherries are ready to harvest. Each one is carefully handpicked to protect its delicate skin, revealing varieties such as Regina, Lapins, Karina, Kordia and Penny - each with its own unique flavour.

Sweet, fragrant and full of summer goodness.
