We charge a flat rate of £92 plus vat to diagnose a fault.

If we can repair it without parts we will but if parts are required a quote will be given that includes the diagnostics fee.

A diagnostics fee is payable regardless. We’ve had it where we’ve spent time diagnosing a fault for the customer to then call around getting quotes and we don’t get paid for our time and expertise in diagnosing the fault.

Wow I’ve left some things on jobs before but this is a first!

I recently asked some of my customers what matters most when choosing a tradesperson.

By a long way, the top answer was simple: someone who actually turns up when they say they will.

Second was quality of work — no one wants to pay for a job and then have to bring someone else in to fix it.

And third was being reasonably priced. From my own experience, cheap doesn’t always mean better value in the long run.
