By Popular Demand: Introducing Teaching With Templates!

One piece of feedback I hear over and over is:

“I want to learn from teachers who are actually doing this work in their classrooms.”

So I listened and created a dynamic experience for you!

I’m excited to announce a brand-new workshop series: Templating with Teachers!

Starting this Thursday, you’ll join two expert classroom teachers as they pull back the curtain and show you exactly how they create science notebook templates for their own lessons. You’ll see their thinking, their design process, and the decisions they make along the way.

But this isn’t just a sit-and-watch session.

You’ll have time to work on your own templates, ask questions, get feedback, and leave with resources you can use immediately in your classroom.

The best part? You do not need to own the Phenomenal Science Notebook training to participate. These workshops are open to everyone.

While you can attend a single session, I highly recommend signing up for all six workshops. Over the series, you’ll learn from 12 different teachers, each bringing unique ideas, grade levels, content areas, and approaches to notebooking.

If you’ve ever wished you could sit beside an experienced teacher and watch them build a template from start to finish, this is your chance.

The first workshop begins this Thursday. But you can always catch the recording if you decide to sign up afterwards.

Come learn, create, get feedback, and leave with work already completed.

Most science teachers spend hours hunting for the perfect activity — searching TPT, tweaking a worksheet, printing it, and hoping it sticks.

And then Friday comes, and you’re doing it all over again.

This is a system problem!

When you don’t have a repeatable template structure, every lesson feels like starting from scratch.

The prep never ends. And your students? They’re waiting for directions instead of actually thinking.

If nothing changes, next school year looks like this one.

That’s exactly why I created Templating with Teachers — a series of live, subject-specific sessions where teachers show you how they build templates that do the heavy lifting for them.

One session. Learn to template. Immediately usable.

You don’t need a new curriculum. You need a better structure for what you’re already teaching.

First workshop starts this Thursday! Join Lori and Liz as they show you how they use their curriculum (Stemscopes) and turn the assignments into Weibert Science templates that students want to use!

You will leave with so many new templating ideas and see how they set up their teacher slides too. Plus make a template with them and work on your own templates with their guidance!

What a day! A total dream come true to visit Komodo Island and see both a male and female dragon! It was hot and dusty and took some walking many trails but we got lucky! The female dragon on the beach was stunning! The island itself is so dry and well really ugly looking 😂

Bali day 1: We made our way to the island of Labuan Bajo. We are staying at a 5 star resort with the most stunning views. The pool was amazing to float in. Two more days until I see a Komodo Dragon!

You planned a great lesson.

The activity made sense. The content was solid. You even found a way to connect it to something they care about.

But when it was time to show what they learned… crickets.

Not because they weren’t paying attention. Not because they don’t like science.

They just didn’t know how to get what was in their head onto the page in a way that felt like theirs.

That’s the piece most of us were never taught to teach.

When students have a system for capturing their thinking — one that actually fits how their brain works — everything shifts. The engagement. The recall. The way they walk into your room.

You don’t need a different group of students. You just need a different tool in your toolkit.

Comment SCIENCE and I’ll show you what that looks like.

The Phenomenal Science Notebook 13/06/2026

Well…I finally sat down and created a podcast channel. Looking at notebook pictures here on Facebook serves a purpose but I think hearing about notebooks and what’s going on in science classrooms around the world has so much value.

I hope you join me in my new journey 😁 The first episode is ready!
