From managing EMS and laminitis, to barefoot rehabilitation, overcoming ulcers, reducing stress, and simply giving horses the freedom to be horses, our little herd has taught us so much. ✨

One thing they all have in common? Since living on our track system, they’re happier, more relaxed, and able to express natural behaviours every single day. Watching friendships form, seeing them choose to move, forage, groom each other and snooze together is exactly why we do what we do. 🐴💛

There’s nothing quite like watching horses choose their own friendships. Whether they’re sharing a hay pile, wandering the track together or simply enjoying each other’s company, this is exactly what our track system is all about—allowing horses to live as naturally as possible.

Why Choice Matters 🐴💚

Many horses kept in traditional stabling can become stressed, anxious, and frustrated. They’re often separated from their herd and confined to a space they haven’t chosen to be in.

At Golden Strides Track Livery, our horses have a choice.

They can spend time together, move around the track, graze, explore, or seek shelter whenever they want. What’s fascinating is that when the weather turns or they want a rest, you’ll often find them all tucked into the same corner together—not because they have to be, but because they choose to.

That tiny corner isn’t where they’re forced to stay. It’s where they feel safest.

Choice gives horses confidence. Freedom of movement supports both physical and mental wellbeing. And when horses are given the opportunity to make their own decisions, they show us exactly what they need.

A horse standing quietly with their friends because they want to be there tells us far more than a horse standing in a stable because they have no other option.

🌿 Mare Space Available – Track System Livery (Chesterfield) 🌿

We have a space available for a mare only on our peaceful, established track system. This is full livery only for barefoot/ horses who are happy to transition on site

✨ What’s included?
• Ad-lib hay fed twice daily via a variety of nets, feeding boxes & larger hay stations
• Loose hay available for those who need it
• Fresh water available 24/7, with daily refresh of all water stations and buffet areas
• Shelters cleaned daily, with hay provided during hot or poor weather so horses can choose comfort
• Poo picking twice daily
• Regular worm counts, plus one annual wormer after the first frost
• Two sandpits (one newly added!) – perfect for comfortable rest and a firm favourite spot
• Two large open areas for feeding, play, and rolling
• Minimum 6m track width throughout, with feeding areas over 12m wide to allow plenty of space
• Multiple hay stations to ensure all horses—regardless of herd dynamics—always have access
• Optional winter grazing for those who benefit from it
• Secure tack room with CCTV, individual bays & rug storage
• Wash and tie-up areas for grooming, vet, and farrier visits
• Holding included:
– Annual dentist visit
– Trimmer (if using yard trimmer, as needed)
– Monthly vet/physio visit

All worming is organised by us (cost covered by owner unless you prefer to manage it yourself).

• 20 x 40 arena
• Additional 200m added to the track
• Brand new large feeding & sleeping area (just completed!)

💛 What are we looking for?
This isn’t first come, first served. We have a quiet, elderly herd who spend their days eating, resting, and grooming each other. We’re looking for a mare and owner who will complement this calm, friendly environment. Our yard is made up of supportive, like-minded people who simply enjoy their horses.
