Photography can start as a hobby, but it often becomes so much more.

This last year I have watched young photographers encourage each other, celebrate each others successes, and more importantly, find like-minded people.

We have had people who have picked up a camera for the first time, people who have been doing photography as a hobby for years, and people undergoing their GCSE’s and A-Levels. I’m amazed to not only see their confidence build with the time they spend with each other, but the friendships that have formed within groups as well as with those in different groups.

This is always what I wanted, a place for people to belong.

As September grows closer, I’m looking forward to seeing all those familiar faces and meeting new ones too.

Sometimes all it takes is finding the right group of people to help your creativity grow.

THE CLICK FILM IS A SMALL-GROUP FILMMAKING EXPERIENCE FOR TEENAGERS AGED 14-19.
EACH EPISODE EXPLORES A DIFFERENT FILM GENRE THROUGH DISCUSSION, PRACTICAL FILMMAKING AND EDITING. SOME EPISODES, SUCH AS SUSPENSE OR HORROR, MAY INCLUDE MILD TENSION OR JUMP SCARES, BUT PROJECTS ARE DESIGNED TO REMAIN APPROPRIATE FOR A 15-RATED AUDIENCE AND DO NOT INCLUDE GRAPHIC VIOLENCE OR GORE.

Natural framing can be found anywhere. From overhanging tree branches, to gaps in a wall or fence, to even your own hands.

Take time to look around to find natural framing to enhance your image by helping guide people’s eyes to the subject you want them to see.

These amazing photos were taken on our photography walk at ℝ𝕖𝕟𝕚𝕤𝕙𝕒𝕨 ℍ𝕒𝕝𝕝 & 𝔾𝕒𝕣𝕕𝕖𝕟𝕤 by one of my talented club members. She managed to capture the beauty and natural wonder of the formal gardens.

I love this image of a violin taken by one of my beginners club members. The use of negative space really highlights the body of the instrument.

And just like that another year done.

I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful the last 12 months have been.

The first full year in my little garden studio.

The opportunity to run more clubs.

So many new faces this year too, so many fantastic personalities and pushing me to teach in different ways to get the most out the members.

I’m so proud of my home ed class and beginner club, they have come a long way not only in photography but in their confidence as well.

Both my older groups who are taking GCSE and A-Levels have, again, pushed me to do more while also trusting them more with projects and team work. Congrats on them all doing well on their exams and mock exams, I’m so proud of them all.

Honorary mentions to Isabella and Liv who are as both a little younger but have natural skills to be able to keep up with the older club members.

Finally, (and I will put this in this weeks newsletter), thank for the support. It has been a dream and a pleasure to be able to not only teach photography skills but also have a safe place for all members. I feel very humbled that you chose The Click to brings your kids.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to pop in here to say thank you for your support over the last year.

More photography groups have been created and new faces have passed through our doors.

I am taking the summer off starting from Friday 24th July and a new term will start on week commencing Monday 7th September.

During the summer I will be making session plans for the next few terms, organising projects and looking at our timetable.

All photography clubs will be remaining the same.

Connect formally Teen Talks might be cancelled, I’d hoped for a free social networking group but it hasn’t taken off in the last year like I hoped it would.

I will be looking again at more photography clubs as well as creative writing and film club.
