The First Dance

It's that time of year when I'm starting to get lots of feedback on successful first dances and some fabulous new reviews on my google business listing. I'm always so grateful to clients for taking the time to write these for me, and it's reassuring that they've had fun and enjoyed their lessons, and felt fully prepared and confident.

I've taken lots of bookings for wedding dance lessons over the last few weeks, with quite a few choosing songs with a Viennese Waltz rhythm - like this absolute classic from The King. The good news is that there aren't too many steps to learn for this dance, However, the poise, speed and rotation requires lots of technique and plenty of space to dance in. I'll usually teach you the Slow Waltz first to give a greater understanding of the fundamentals of the Viennese.

One of the sayings I've heard most often when I've started new classes or exhibited at wedding fairs is "I can't dance, I've got two left feet'. Well, over the 18 years I've been teaching I've cured hundreds of pairs of 'two left feet'!
So if you think you have them please don't think that you can't dance! Some people have natural abilities but for most it takes some patience and determination and above all PRACTICE! It doesn't have to make PERFECT but I'll always aim you at confidence and fun. Give it a try and discover the JOY OF DANCE.

Well! What an opening show for Strictly on Saturday! Nigel certainly did Katya's brilliant brilliant choreography proud. So many great dances and promising dancers but this Paso was my favourite dance of the night.
