This was our best game, the girls took to the court confident and full of energy.
There were some wonderful pockets of play throughout the match. Our defence worked really hard and made several turnovers, staying tight with their players just as we had practised. There was some careful passing through centre court to get the ball down to our shooters, with some lovely shots taken.
I am sure everyone heard me screaming ‘get in front’ several times, so that’s what we took into training on Monday to work on.
Keep going girls, you are listening and improving week on week. Well done

Foxes 1 vs Warriors 2
54-29 (W)
POM: Laura
Player’s Player: Lily
A fantastic team performance saw us secure a convincing 54–29 victory.
Neve and Issy were in outstanding form in the shooting circle, confidently converting chances from all areas. They combined brilliantly, reading each other's movements well and creating short, effective passing options to work into even stronger shooting positions.
In centre court, Laura, Tegan and Lucy worked tirelessly to transition the ball down the court. They created excellent space and applied the skills we have been practising in training, particularly cutting in front to receive safe, well-timed passes.
At the defensive end, Lilly and Tanya applied relentless pressure to the opposition shooters, forcing them to take more difficult shots from distance. Their ability to work together, read the play and anticipate passes resulted in numerous interceptions and turnovers.
Across the court, the whole team showed great discipline by consistently making a second move, which opened up space and provided safe passing options. This helped us maintain possession, move the ball confidently through the court and control the game from start to finish.
Well done to everyone on an excellent team performance.

Fenland Foxes 1 vs Hurricanes
22-59 (L)
Opposition's player: Issy
Player’s player: Cathy and Lily
A really challenging game tonight! In the first quarter, some quick attackers from the other team, and Tayla and Kelsey were doing amazing defence against them. In the mid court, Tegan, Millie and Cathy used steady movement to travel the ball to Issy and Lily worked together to get the ball into the net. Later in the game Sam moved into GK, keeping the shooter on her toes by keeping her far out of the D and working well with Kelsey and Tayla sharing GD. By the third quarter, Kelsey moved into shooting and Lily into defence, which allowed us to score more goals. Lily showed amazing defence, as always, getting many interceptions and making it harder for their D, and Kelsey and Issy worked well, communicating where each other was. Such a tough game tonight girls but we did fight for it, and you should be very proud of yourselves!

Foxes 3 vs Ladybirds 3
Score: 28-43 (L)
POM: Cathy
PP: Faith
A tough and competitive game against Ladybirds 3 tonight.
Our defence was sharp, with Cath and Faith pulling off some exceptional interceptions in the defensive D. In the midcourt, Georgie B, Sara, Millie and Cathy worked brilliantly together, moving the ball smoothly up the court and delivering balls into the attacking end. Georgie P and Sally then produced some fantastic shots against skilled defenders.
Although the overall score didn’t go our way, our teamwork visibly improved as the game went on. Everyone worked hard to apply the coaching pointers after each quarter, showing great commitment and progress.
A special shout-out to Faith on her Players’ Player award and brilliant debut for seniors' matches.

This week's game was difficult as they were an extremely pushy team but we managed to get through it. There were some amazing movements from Claire as WA as she moved around the court working well and blocking the other team's defence on the back line. Izzy had some great tips as GD and was always there for support when anybody needed it. With me as C and Tilly as GA, we worked hard together to work the ball in and out of the D trying to move around very tall defenders with the support of Char S as GS and Claire on the edge of the D. Charlotte had some incredible shots despite the difficult pressure the defence was putting on us. For the last quarter, I was GA with Tilly but then did a tactical change so I was with Char, we worked extremely well together getting some faraway shots in. Before Sam stepped in as a brilliant WD, she made it difficult for the shooters to get the ball and put pressure on. Megan then went as GK and got some excellent tips and effectively did the arms-up block technique we practised in training. Teyla had some good support and amazing tips. Although it was a very tough game, I think we still played amazingly. Well done foxes!!

Losing a match can be disappointing, but it never defines who you are as a player. Every game is an opportunity to learn, grow, and come back stronger. Be proud of the effort, teamwork, and determination you showed on the court. Win or lose, the lessons you gain are what help build future champions. Keep your heads high and keep moving forward! 🧡

Foxes 1 v Warriors 1
22-38 (loss)
Coming up against a county prem team alongside the windy conditions, we knew this was going to be a challenging match. We held our own on court but unfortunately fell short, with the Warriors able to bring fresh legs to boost their game. The quarter score differences: -5, -1, -2, -10, just showed our ability to keep up and challenge, especially when we found our feet in the middle two quarter. Tired legs began to show in the final quarter, and we let Warriors take the score away.
Issy and Neve were resilient in the shooting circle, remaining strong against tight defence. Between them they put up some great shots. Laura was a consistent support in attack, timing her drives well, and presenting into space. Tegan started in C, before moving to WD, offering great defensive pressure, vocal directions and attack in both positions. Tanya gave 100% in WD/GD, keeping up with Warriors fast attack, forcing errors, and gaining possession. A big thank you to Sam for playing up. We gave Sam a tough job defending an experienced holding shooter. She worked well, moving her feet to confuse the space and force feeds over the back line.
Well done 1’s, you kept your heads up, and should be proud of the performance displayed tonight 😊

Massive well done to our U11 girls who played in their first tournament today. We were up against some tough opposition, but they kept their energy and enthusiasm up throughout the morning.
They showed versatility, with just 7 girls today, they all tried out new positions and gave it a really good go.
Sadly we didn’t come away with a win, but a great experience.
Really proud of everyone, it’s never difficult to enjoy time with them as they are always so upbeat and just happy to be playing.
Thank you parents for your support and braving the weather, and thank you to Izzy, Tegan and Millie for umpiring
