When the new owners at Chilli Grill Chicken & Pizza- Ely took over the premises from another business which stood before it, locals were still calling it by the previous business name, 'Chilli Flames', so instead of avoiding it, we tackled it head on.
The solution? A repetitive, catchy jingle designed to create that memory effect, reinforcing the new brand name again and again until it sticks. Simple, strategic, and built for long-term recall across future campaigns.

There’s a lot more to food photography than simply pointing a camera at a plate.
We’ve recently completed a large-scale shoot covering dozens of food items and set menu meals for use across social media platforms and online ordering systems, and it’s a reminder of just how overlooked photography can be in digital marketing.
Great food imagery isn’t only about composition. It’s about consistency, colour calibration, lighting balance, post-production refinement, and creating a standardised visual identity across every menu item. Many of the refinements we make aren’t immediately obvious unless you compare the before and after side by side, but collectively, they can make a huge difference to customer perception and conversion.
What’s particularly interesting now is the added layer of AI-assisted finishing tools available alongside traditional editing workflows. While we’re certainly not dependent on AI, it allows us to enhance already professionally worked images, opening up advanced digital finishing techniques that would once have been out of reach for many smaller businesses.
Technology evolves, but strong creative foundations still matter most.

For this ad with Top Deck Fish & Chips, we filmed a real model fishing trawler, gently making its way back to dock... Top Deck Fish & Chips, that is, nameplate and all. No flashy tricks or spinning graphics, just a quiet nod to tradition. Much like fish & chips itself.
Because good advertising doesn’t always need to shout. In fact, the best kind often whispers. It reminds, it stays present, and it keeps your name in people’s minds long after the moment has passed. That’s the long game.

Another week working alongside Top Deck Fish & Chips, and another opportunity to refine what effective, consistent social media marketing really looks like.
This latest batch of graphics has been all about balance. On one side, we’ve been developing a range of simple iconography-led visuals, clean, unfussy “back to basics” pieces that do exactly what they need to: gently remind people what’s on offer. No over-engineered visuals, no overwhelming eye candy, just clear, confident food messaging that doesn’t get lost in the scroll.
Alongside that, we’ve introduced more photographic-led creations, bringing in subtle, considered messaging like “Next port of call…” a soft nudge designed to get people thinking. Not shouting for attention, but encouraging a moment of reflection: should your next choice be somewhere new?
It’s a good reminder of something we say often, marketing isn’t about overnight wins. The real impact comes from consistency. From showing up week after week, refining, testing, and building familiarity. Continuity really is king.
Too many businesses expect hyper-growth in their first year and lose patience when it doesn’t arrive instantly. But strong social media marketing is a long game, it works best as part of a wider, joined-up strategy, delivering returns over the medium to long term.
Stick with it, trust the process, and the results will follow.

Our latest cheeky little ad for Top Deck Fish & Chips landed down at Cardiff Docks, three gulls, one mission, and a well-earned snack at the end of it.
How did we pull it together? Honestly… it’s a bit of everything. A snippet from a jingle we produced last year, the poster we’d already designed, a templated visual reworked from a previous social media graphic, blended with a touch of AI and finished off with some good old-fashioned post-edit rendering.
At the Cardiff Advertising Co., AI is a tool, it gives us new possibilities. The real magic still comes from ideas, creativity, and knowing how to bring it all together. And that’s exactly what we pride ourselves on… and we’ve got plenty more where that came from.
It’s not every day you get to share something this special. We’re incredibly proud to see Big Mamma's Sandwich Club thriving, and even more so to hear that customers are now travelling from as far away as Bridgend, Barry, Cwmbran, Taffs Well, Caerphilly… and beyond, just to meet Big Mamma and try some of her amazing food.
That kind of reach doesn’t come from luck. It comes from passion, consistency, and a message that truly connects.
