Did a t thing other than fix things… maybe I now need to be fixed 😂

Found the oil leak in the engine driven raw water pump.
Took it off, spun it round, and the O ring was flatter than my motivation on a Monday morning.
Also looked like someone had previously introduced it to a generous amount of silicone.
Creative, but not ideal.

The plan: quick check before they head to Scotland.
Reality: archaeological dig for ancient impeller remains.

Pulled the raw water feed off the intercooler and found one old vane lodged in there.
Kept digging and found three fins in total.

The current impeller had all its vanes, so these were fossils from a previous one.

A reminder that when an impeller lets go, it doesn’t just disappear. It goes off on a little adventure through your cooling system.

When the oil comes out looking like this, you know something’s not right.
Creamy oil usually means water has got where it shouldn’t.
Disposed of properly and on to the next step.
