Dear community, here is an important message from Public Health Wales regarding Cardiff and Vale University Health Board who are running a COVID-19 and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccination campaign from March - May 2026.
Please ready for more information 💙
* Eligible individuals will be invited via letter to attend a vaccination appointment. Vaccination will take place at a range of venues in the community, and the location of an appointment is tailored to where people live or their GP practices to make it as convenient as possible to attend.
* The vaccination campaign will focus on older adults (aged 75 and over) as these diseases can cause serious illness in this age group.
What is COVID-19?
* COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a virus. Older people and those with underlying medical conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, or cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.
* The COVID-19 vaccine is still offered because viruses change and protection fades over time. It’s important to top up your protection if you’re eligible.
What is RSV?
* Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is an infectious disease and a common cause of respiratory tract infections.
* In older adults, RSV can cause severe breathing problems, particularly in those who are frail or have other health conditions. RSV infection might cause pneumonia (infection of the lungs) or even death.
COVID-19 and RSV can spread between people. Get vaccinated and protect you and your loved ones this spring.
What do I need to do?
*Please attend your vaccination appointment when you receive the invitation letter from the health board immunisation coordinators.
If you have any questions about the vaccine, your appointment or if you need to rearrange - please contact our Immunisation Coordinators by emailing: [email protected] or calling 07980991088 / 07974115707.
Thank you 💙🩵

We wanted to share an important update with our community!
CCAWS will soon be undergoing refurbishment works to improve our building and create a more welcoming and supportive space for everyone who uses our services.
The work is expected to take up to six months. During this time, we will do our best to continue providing support, but there may be some temporary disruption or changes to how services are delivered.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these important improvements for the future.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us on 029 2034 5294.
Thank you for your continued support 💙🩵.
