WHAT TO EXPECT:
As you enter Fuel you into the social area you will be greeted by one of our hosts. No photos are permitted in this section of the event so you can expect a warm and friendly welcome without fear of staring down the end of a camera lens before you've even taken your coat off. In this area you can network and socialise informally with other people, hobbyists and professionals who a
ll share similar interests. The rear bar will be the photo-shoot area, this will be the only area of the venue in which photos are permitted. In this section you will find a photography set with studio lighting and props. These will be intended for use by attendees and there will be someone on hand to assist with equipment. Attendees are free to use any area of the rear section for shoot purposes (excluding staff areas and toilets). We are also planning to arrange for a make up artist who will be able to provide a pre-shoot make up fix. This will ensure that anyone wishing to model has the opportunity to beautify themselves further before they go in front of the camera. FINALLY:
This event is intended to be a fun and friendly experience for all and will hopefully help attendees to make new friends, meet new people to work with or simply gain a greater insight into the world of photography and modelling. We do have some rules which all attendees will be expected to adhere to, failure to do so may result in someone being asked to leave the event. This is to ensure that all members find the event to be a enjoyable experience and are as follows:
- Photos within the venue may only be taken in the specified photo-shoot zones.
- Equipment provided by the event i.e. lighting must not be adjusted or tampered with by anyone other than event hosts or venue staff. This is a safety precaution as lighting can get quite hot.
- Attendees are to be polite and respectful to all venue staff, hosts of the event and other attendees.
- Any critique of attendees work should always be constructive and as a recommendation, should only be given where requested. If you do not like someone's work then there is nothing to be gained by making negative comments about it.
- Anyone wishing to model must make this clear to one of our hosts who will note down what levels they are willing to work up to and will arrange for their entry into the photo-shoot zone.
- We will not tolerate anyone putting attendees under pressure to model if they are not willing to do so. Nor will we tolerate anyone putting models under pressure to exceed their stated limits.
- Fuel cannot be held responsible for attendees that wish to leave the event in order to shoot outside the premises. Those who leave the venue to shoot outside, do so at their own risk.
Fuel Your Fire is a creative event which is held each month at the very heart of the alternative quarter in Fuel Rock Club on Womanby Street, Cardiff. A friendly group of photographers, models, designers, make up and other artists meet up here and collaborate together to create interesting and exciting artworks, which is entertaining in itself. We welcome people from all walks of life so invite you to join us, even if you’re just curious to see what it’s all about.
