Today we hosted a British Horse Society Stage 2 Coach exam. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our guinea pig riders, horses and ponies who made us proud as always 🧡 without these wonderful people volunteering their time and staff working hard, days like these simply wouldn’t be possible.

Well done to all the candidates who sat their exam today, we hope the wait for your results isn’t too agonising!

From Cardiff Riding School to London!

Some of you know Rosa, one of our fantastic instructors. Here’s their story written in Rosa’s (slightly emotional) words. Where could CRS take you? 💭 🧡

“We owe so much to Cardiff Riding School (CRS)!

My journey started there at 16 as an apprentice, eventually working full-time and gaining my BHS qualifications thanks to the incredible support of the team.

In 2013, I took a leap of faith on Donny—a beautiful but terrified, unhandled chestnut yearling. I was lucky to have a stable at CRS with the perfect set up… but I’ll never forget the challenge of those first few weeks, sitting in his stable for hours just trying to win his trust. But that patience paid off, and our bond became unbreakable.

After years of adventuring, a few yard moves, we found our calling in the show ring. Donny is a natural performer! In 2025, after some serious training with Marina she encouraged me to try and qualify for London and I was delighted to get that ticket in spring 2025. We moved back to CRS on livery, just a few months before our big show at London! Despite the freezing early morning sessions, having access to the indoor school was a lifesaver. It all led to a moment I still can’t quite believe: winning our class and then Champion Riding Horse at the London International Horse Show!

Donny and I are now officially 'part of the furniture' at CRS. I’m back teaching their wonderful clients and working with the fantastic team, alongside my full-time job. Huge thanks to the whole CRS team—we truly wouldn’t be here without you!"

-Rosa

We hope this has inspired you all 🧡

🏕️ Pony Club Camp 2026 🏕️

Bookings can be taken from in person or over the phone. Please ensure to collect and fill in your registration forms asap to complete your booking.

The camp will start at 2pm on Sunday August 23rd and finish at 3pm on Monday 24th. Parents are welcomed to pitch tents between 2 and 3pm on the 23rd and again, join us for lunch (packed lunch for children to be brought in by their parents) at 2pm on the 24th before a small presentation and packing tents away. Parents are not permitted on site outside of these times unless requested to be there by a member of staff.

We will make this the most fun filled camp imaginable with plenty of badges up for grabs. A more refined itinerary will be confirmed in due course but you can be sure to expect a wonderful experience.

The cost of camp is £125 per child to be paid by card in reception. With an extra £10 cash towards an optional evening meal (Sunday) and breakfast (Monday) should children need it. This is to be paid to Friends of Cardiff Riding School at a later date. Organisers can discuss food options with parents prior to camp but please make sure any dietary requirements are clearly stated on the medical form. Alice will be our safeguarding lead at camp and main point of contact should you or your children need her.

We do have strict criteria that must be followed below:
⛺️ only our pony club members are permitted to attend camp (please have your membership number to hand when booking)
⛺️ everyone camping must be over 10 years old by August 23rd 2026
⛺️ all parents/ guardians must fill out registration forms from the office before the booking can be completed. These are printed out and ready for you.
⛺️ open to 20 children to start but we will have a further 10 children on a waiting list which we will grant spaces to if we have the horses available.
⛺️ there will be a number of staff and DBS checked volunteers staying in the field overnight but please ensure your child is happy to stay in a tent with their friends without an adult sharing with them.
⛺️ all tents are to be provided and pitched by parents and can sleep between 2 and 6 children in each tent. We’re happy that you make your own sleeping arrangements between friendship groups but we will require a list of which children are in each tent at least a week prior to camp starting. No child must change tents without informing camp supervisors.
⛺️ all bookings will be on a first come, first served basis and are to be made in person at reception. Only those who have met all of the criteria above will have a confirmed space.

We’re sure this is going to fill up quickly so please book early to avoid disappointment. Please send us a Facebook message starting with the word CAMP if you have any questions.
