Introduction Post 🌱🪴
Hi, I’m Sapphire and I’m finally restarting my social media coaching business! 🎉 I’ve been a social media manager from when I was 16 to 21 but stepped away from my business to work full time as a Forest School Leader, trainer and SMM at Dare Valley Forest School and focus on growing and monetising my own social media so I could comfortably make a part time income online.
I knew that I didn’t have the time and energy to dedicate to running several social media accounts every single day and mistakenly thought that meant that I couldn’t help people anymore.
But after an inspiring networking event with I AM WOMAN and realising how many women in business are overwhelmed and struggling with increasing their social media and didn’t realise how big of an earning potential they are missing out on by not utilising tiktok and short form video I was encouraged to start my own online courses.
My first course will cover the absolute basics from how to set up an account, what types of videos to post, the different features and everything that you will need to know to begin monetising your account. I will also explain exactly why you should be using TikTok for your business and how you can increase your sales and your income.
Don’t worry I won’t get you to do any silly dances or pointing - that is absolutely NOT what people are doing on the app anymore (and haven’t been since way before 2020 😭😭)
So whilst I’m in the process of creating the content for my course I have a little bit of market research:
1) What is stopping you from getting started on TikTok
2) What are you currently struggling with on TikTok
3) What is something you really want someone to give you a tutorial on related to TikTok?

“Do I need to use hashtags?”
The short answer is no, you don’t NEED to use hashtags if you only want your current followers to see your post.
But... if you want your account to grow organically and maximise your reach beyond your current following, hashtags are the best way to do that.
As you can see, hashtags (if done right) will make up the majority of your reach. As a brand new account with only 48 followers, this post had a reach of 411 and only 36 were from the home page. This means that without hashtags only 36 people would have seen this post!
So do you need to use hashtags? No.
Are you limiting your post reach and therefore the number of people who could be getting value from your content and buying into your services if you don’t use them? Absolutely!

“I met Sapphire through her mum (the brilliant ) because I'm a member of the amazing DIY Website Success Academy.
I needed a little extra help to get a sales page ready very quickly for a low key launch of my first ever digital product.
I don't do any tech "very quickly" and I'd already seen some of Sapphire's work on her own website as well as some of the work she does on Canva and was so impressed with the quality and final look I didn't hesitate to ask for her help.
Sapphire is lovely, friendly and so easy and a joy to work with. I was able to explain my idea and what I wanted while Sapphire took detailed notes and she transformed the images and copy I supplied into a fabulous sales page I'm proud of.
What's even more impressive is not only the delivery to such a high standard, but the speediness of her turnaround! What would have taken me hours and hours, Sapphire got done and dusted pretty much in less than an hour. So I asked her to do a bit more 😍
I can highly recommend Sapphire as a super-efficient, super-quick, high quality, tech-savvy, absolutely lovely VA to work with and I'll certainly be one of her regular clients. 💖”

You may think that your business can’t afford to pay for a VA when actually your business can’t afford not to!
For example, If a VA charges an hourly rate to:
💜 Download your online course videos from Zoom
💜 Upload the videos to Vimeo
💜 Add the course videos to your website
💜 Add the beautiful thumbnails they have created
💜 Convert and upload the audio files
💜 Proofread and edit the transcripts
💜 Schedule your Social Media posts with strategy
and this takes roughly 20 hours per month...
How much could you earn from those extra 20 hours if you were working in your business and not on your business? How many 1-1 calls could you provide? How much could you earn in an additional passive income every month from having those courses live? I can guarantee your monthly income will be much more than what you would pay a VA!

If you could only outsource one task for your business what would it be?
What is the one thing that you simply cannot find the time or energy to do when it comes to your business? What tedious task would you want nothing more than for someone to take off your hands?

Who am I?
My name is Sapphire and I live in South Wales with my mother, step father and sisters.
I recently graduated with a history degree and I’m currently doing a PGCE in post-16 education.
I’m a very outdoorsy person. I’m a qualified Forest School Leader and a member of a Woodland Cooperative.
I love to read and have a slight hoarding issue when it comes to books. I mostly enjoy books related to history and mythology.
I’m obsessed with coffee. I have a coffee cupboard filled with different types of coffee, syrups, flavoured coffee, stencils for latte art and more.
I dye my hair way too often! It’s currently silvery purple but it’s never the same for too long.

I absolutely adore this T-shirt off Sara Roddis VA services (we can pretend that I’m not wearing it before Christmas)🤣 Not only is the design cute but I love the message!
I’ve been so lucky to have been brought up around so many strong inspiring women.
I grew up seeing my mother start her own business with such determination. She now earns so much more than she has in any job and has become somewhat famous in the small business women community. The amount of times I’ve been recognised as “Website Wonder Woman ‘s daughter” is weird to me.
I saw other amazing women in the female only/mother and child networking meetings that she brought me along to and got to see them share their successes and their stories.
I grew up seeing my Nanna being the manager of several stores. We would always go to visit her in work and ask to see the manager so we could say hi🤣
I grew up seeing my stepmother push herself beyond her comfort zone and move to Dubai for an amazing job role which then allowed her to travel to amazing locations to train authentically to start her business Life Elevated
I knew from a young age that I wanted to be successful, that I wanted to have an impact on the world and that I could achieve whatever I put my mind to as long as I was willing to put the work in!
The way you live your life sends a message to the younger generation that success has no gender!
So I stand by what the t-shirt says: Hex the patriarchy! ☠️

Here are my do’s and don’ts of Instagram for business. There are obviously a lot more, but these are some basics that I feel are important.
DO:
✔️ Post content that your audience enjoys - especially saveable and shareable content
✔️ Use a hashtag strategy that will get you results - so that you can show up on your ideal client's feed
✔️ Focus on the quality of your content rather than the quantity - 3 amazing posts a week will do far more for your business than 10 posts a day that your followers or ideal clients are not interested in
✔️ Engage with your audience and ideal clients - reply to comments, like and comment on other people’s posts (if they interest you), have meaningful conversations and build relationships in DMs
DON'T
✖️ Use the follow/unfollow method to gain unengaged and uninterested followers
✖️ Use hashtags such as # business # my # day (you will not show up on these hashtags and so they are pointless using)
✖️ Post more than 3 times a day - most people will block and unfollow. They don’t want their entire timeline to be spammed with just you. (This is certainly a pet peeve of mine!)
✖️ DM people with cold sales messages - you will get blocked and you could even be reported for spam. If anyone cold messages me, no matter how much I love what they are offering I no longer want to buy from them and support their scammy sales tactics!
IT’S CHRISTMASSSSS!
Okay, maybe not yet...
I’ve been feeling quite low today and haven’t had much energy or motivation. So I thought that I would decorate my room all Christmassy to cheer myself up.
I’ve been feeling really artsy making these reels and love the creative side of them even if it does take a lot of effort to film and edit them (and at least 4 apps🤣).
What’s your thoughts on Instagram reels? Do you love them or hate them?
