Baffle Haus have given us a huge amount of support since Classic Engineering became their neighbours — not only with their encouragement, but also by looking after so many of our customers while their cars are with us getting a bit of love.

They’re a real asset to the classic car, sports car and motorcycle community here in South Wales, so if you haven’t visited yet, make a point of calling in. Great coffee, great people and always something interesting going on.

How far should you go when modernising a classic?

For some enthusiasts, even the smallest move away from factory specification is a step too far. For others, discreet upgrades can make a classic safer, easier and more enjoyable to use without taking away its character.

As technology moves on, there’s also a good argument for carefully introducing modern features — particularly those that improve safety and everyday usability, such as hands-free calling and navigation.

This stereo upgrade, carried out by Classic Engineering gives the driver Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while keeping the installation neat and sympathetic to the car.

So where do you stand?

Are tasteful, reversible modern upgrades a sensible way of keeping classics usable — or should they be left exactly as they left the factory?

Such a widespread issue with older cars, drooping headlinings! We have seen many short term fixes spraying glue behind the material, using drawing pins to give a 'nice' chesterfield effect and all points in between.

The only real fix is to replace the headlining and give the appearence of the car a big lift plus stop the driver and passengers wearing a floppy hat.

Bentley is one of those names in motoring that immediately bring to mind elegance, luxury and sporting history and this Bentley S2 certainly deserves to carry the badge.

She has been maintained to a high standard by her fastidious owner and only recently toured extensively in North Wales, however, it is with reluctance that due to a pending new classic purchase the Bentley has to be sold.

The team at Classic Engineering have been pleased to have been part of the cars history undertaking much work on the car from servicing, maintaining the power brake system and recently sourcing a new set of tyres. She even features on our Facebook Cover Photo.

Not something we see every day but it was a joy to work on this Peugeot J7 and bring it back up to standard, coffee was good as well 🙂
