WORLD CUP? OLD NEWS; GET US TO PRESEASON!

Whilst we’re all sat here cheering England on in their first World Cup game tonight, there’s only one thing on our mind and that’s preseason!

We’re just over 2 weeks away from our seniors picking up the egg shaped ball again and we’re definitely glad our boys chose oval over round with some starting at as young as 4 years old at Braintree including Josh Wadforth, Keelan Joslin and captain, Jack Brand!

All perfect examples of what Braintree Rugby Club is all about – developing players, creating lifelong friendships, and providing a pathway from minis rugby all the way through to senior rugby and beyond!

So, get in on the action from the 2nd of July and train alongside our players!

Congratulations to Thomas Wadforth who has been selected for the London & South East U20s squad this weekend against North U20s!

With only a 2 week break since his last Essex match, the season has gone from strength to strength for Thomas who only stepped into senior rugby part way through the year.

Saturday Snaps: Essex Semi-Final Edition 📸

Last Saturday saw 5 of our senior players take to the pitch at Harlow as they took on Leicestershire in a tough match which saw them miss out on a spot at Twickenham as the final score ended 28-42 in the away teams favour.

A massive congratulations to all those who represented Essex in the last 3 matches; Harvey Ellis, Thomas Wadforth, Josh Wadforth, Tyler Worster, Will Latta, Max Verguson & Alex Jennings and to head coach, Jimmy Rea without forgetting Cameron Kerr who grew up playing at Braintree.

It’s definitely time for some much needed rest ahead of preseason!

Saturday Snaps: Essex Edition 📸

Last weekend 5 of our boys headed over to Wymondham for the 2nd round of Counties games against Eastern Counties and they came away with a win of 24-36 securing their spot in the 3 round this weekend!
