Deeming's Corner is a project to provide a creative social space for young people with SEND
Deeming's Corner has been created to enable young people with SEND to access creative social sessions. These sessions will encourage the use of creative outlets to express thoughts, feelings and emotions with peers. Bobby, the founder of Forward Music Birmingham and Deeming's Corner, has been working with young people (with additional needs) since 2018. In that time teaching a music curriculum cen
tred around personal development and transferable skills and now working for Birmingham City Council as an Independent Travel Trainer. There are currently two additional Directors for Forward Music Birmingham who will focusing on Deeming's Corner. Firstly there is Adeana, who works with Bobby as a Travel Trainer and then there is Laura, who is a parent of a young person with SEND. We will be looking for more people to get involved over time and we would love for one of our young people to be involved in the running of Deeming's corner in the future. We are looking to run three sessions over every four weeks.
2x physical sessions using a community hall at South Aston URC
1x Virtual session
We are currently in the process of gauging interest in the sessions.
