9th Sutton Coldfield Rangers

This week we had a messy week of painting using different techniques. We had to sq**rt the paint onto the card and use different implements to spread the paint out. We then designed, built and tested some mini rafts! 🖼️⛵️

We celebrated World Thinking Day 2026 by learning about Guides in different Member Organisations of WAGGGS. We also played a World Thinking Day themed bingo game to find out a bit more about other people’s experiences of Guiding. This meant everyone has completed the first 2 clauses of the World Guiding interest badge!

Last week at Rangers we completed a UMA where we had to think about fashion trends. We had a competition to see who could name the most fashion trends that no other team had come up with. Using our lists we designed outfits showing off a mixture of our favourite trends.

Last week we did an activity to find what our skills and interests are and then recommended jobs we thought other people would be good at. Som suggestions were a future caricature artist, farmer, bake off judge and beauty technician to name a few! 🧑‍🌾🎨🧑‍🎨🧑‍🍳💄

We have had a fantastic weekend at Frostbite 2026. Rangers took part in team work challenges, adventurous activities, giant games, a silent disco, bushcraft, bingo and so much more. Thank you to for inviting us and putting on such a memorable camp. We can’t wait for next year! ❄️🥶

Last week we did the flameless food UMA. we made mini cheese cakes and Caesar salad. 🥗 We then prepped some jars ready for our Christmas craft evening.

A few weeks ago we completed pick your battles and budget builder in very competitive Ranger meeting. We made the tallest and best looking tower in teams and had to complete as many challenges as we could from the list in 5 minutes.

We had a fun night bowling last week. We even had time to play some of the arcade games! 🎳

Another brilliant Rangers meeting. We made some hieroglyphics biscuits and told a story with them. We then did some cup stacking races, only some groups could only practice with 3 cups. This helped us to consider the barriers that marginalised groups face. The meeting ended with an impromptu ballet lesson! 🍪🥤🩰

We made some oragami pumpkins, played a spider theme beetle drive, played pass the parcel, had a game of traitors and held a costume competition. Well done to the witch and ghost busters for winning the prizes for best costume! 🏆

Alternative artworks. Tonight we used pencils to pierce the skin on bananas to make patterns. 🍌✏️

This week we completed pitch your pals from the live smart skills builders. We had to think of something that another Rangers would be good and why. We then played some games and finished the evening with 2 new Rangers making their promise!
