How to perform back squats!
mcivor has been dialling in his back squats, with some knee bother we made corrections to his stance and also his hip strength.
Abductors, hip flexors & adductors play a big role in knee stability.. if they aren’t in a good place, are tight & weak then your knee will get hurt. On top of that knee travel over the top of the toes is important.
I’m very big on clients getting strong but without these details, we cannot progress the weight!

John didn’t join coaching because he wanted to run a marathon.
He joined because he came back from a lads’ holiday and realised something had to change.
He wasn’t happy.
He wasn’t confident.
He felt uncomfortable in his own skin.
At the time, the goal was simple:
Lose weight.
Feel better.
Get back in shape.
In his first 12 weeks, he lost 12kg.
Eventually, that became 17kg.
But what happened next is what matters most.
He stopped hiding in the cardio area and gained the confidence to use the free weights.
He got stronger.
Fitter.
More confident.
Then something happened that hadn’t happened in years… He got back playing football.
A sport he loved but hadn’t touched for around 8 years.
From there, the momentum kept building.
✅ 5K every day throughout January
✅ Sub 20 minute 5K
✅ Joined a local football club
✅ 46 minute 10K
✅ Half Marathon
✅ Marathon in 3 hours 32 minutes
All because he made one decision.
To stop putting it off.
Most people think they’re signing up to lose a bit of weight.
What they’re really doing is rebuilding confidence, fitness, habits and belief in themselves.
