Junk Drawer
Four multi-instrumentalists drawing from post-punk, krautrock, indie rock, psychedelia and so on A potent cocktail. We’ve grown to be more of an entity.
Junk Drawer are Brian Coney (bass/keys), Rory Dee (drums/guitar/vocals) and siblings Stevie (vocals/guitar) and Jake Lennox (vocals/guitar/drums). We were recently asked to provide some music for a new blackly poignant comedy short on the Beeb about care workers, starring a few of the North's finest - but we didn't realise we'd end up being the whole soundtrack. We can't tell you how surreal it was and how much it meant to have those songs recontextualised on the screen. Dig in!

JUNK DRAWER | DAYS OF HEAVEN
"Junk Drawer play like a gang of mind-readers, guessing each other’s intentions, swerving together into acid dreams, sweet interludes and twitchy paranoia. This is a positive feature of their second album which is arranged as two distinct parts. The first half showcases the tunes and the grace. The second half is about stretching out and improvising. Somewhere within, they search for the weird essence of their own, rural heartland. Even the chip shop has a story. Altogether, it’s a fascinating quest."
