At MayWe we are committed to diversity, inclusion and supporting communities. We work with communities all across the country to build positive relationships, increase cohesion and showcase Northern Ireland as a vibrant and safe place to live.

The attack in North Belfast was horrific and acts of such brutality have absolutely no place in the communities we know and love. Our thoughts are with the victim, his family and all of those in North Belfast.

It is extremely upsetting to see an act of violence met with violence. The intimidation of ethnic minorities and community leaders is completely unacceptable, and stands against everything we and other community and cultural organisations work to achieve.

Everyone deserves to feel safe in their home, their streets and workplaces. We wholeheartedly stand in support of ethnic minority communities who are today living in fear in our city. We stand with peaceful communities having their areas destroyed by mindless violence. We stand with small businesses being strong-armed into closing during already difficult times. And as a female led organisation, we stand strong with women across Northern Ireland who are facing violence daily.

We remain here as always for those who need support, communities willing to see peaceful resolution and building a brighter future for everyone, together.

Today, we marked Ria’s last day with us at MayWe💜

It feels like only yesterday we were welcoming Ria to the team as our Event Assistant for her placement year.

Since joining us as part of her Masters in Arts Management at Queen’s University Belfast, Ria has made a fantastic contribution to the team. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and passion for events have shone through in everything she’s done, and it’s been a pleasure to watch her grow throughout her placement.

We’d like to say a huge thank you for all of her hard work and dedication over the past year. She has been a valued member of the MayWe team, and we’ve loved having her with us.

We wish Ria every success with the rest of her studies and her future career in events. We have no doubt she’ll go on to achieve amazing things, and we’re looking forward to continuing to work with her in the future. 🥰
