Housing Rights is currently supporting research into private renters' experiences of paying housing costs through benefits in Northern Ireland. Annie Doherty is an MSc in Social Policy at Ulster University, who is investigating the experiences of adult renters in Northern Ireland who receive benefits to help with their housing costs.

Helpline closure for essential staff training🚨
Our helpline will close today at 1:30 pm and will re-open tomorrow morning at 9:30 am.

Your landlord cannot increase your rent without giving you 3 months notice.
From 1 April 2025:
✔️your landlord must give you at least three months' notice if they want to increase rent
✔️they must give this notice in writing
✔️the notice should state the date on which the increase will occur and the new rent level
