Storehouse
At Storehouse we aim to restore dignity, recognise significance and release hope to all those that we serve, and those that work along side us.

🎳 What a night! 🎳
Last week our Storehouse community came together for a brilliant night out bowling — full of laughs, friendly competition, and plenty of memorable moments. 💛
It was amazing to see everyone connecting outside of our usual spaces and celebrating the community we’re so proud to be part of.
A huge thank you to King Pins for kindly offering us a discount and helping make the evening possible — we really appreciate your support! 🙌
Here’s to more nights like this, building friendships and making memories together. ✨
âš˝ Storehouse Football | Every Tuesday | 4PM âš˝
Football is more than a game — it’s a language that everyone understands.
Every Tuesday, we come together at Olympia Leisure Centre for our Storehouse football session. It’s a space to get active, build friendships, have a laugh, and connect with people from all walks of life.
The goals, the passes, the competition — they’re all part of it. But what matters most is the community we build off the pitch.
No matter your ability, come along. There’s a place for you.

🌟 Volunteers’ Week Spotlight 🌟
Today we’re celebrating Rachael, one of the friendly faces who welcomes people into Storehouse every Tuesday and Thursday.
Rachael has been volunteering with us for over 12 years and is a valued part of the Storehouse family. Serving on reception, she is often one of the first people visitors meet, and she always greets them with a warm smile and a great sense of humour that helps put people at ease.
One of the things that makes Rachael so special is the care she takes to help people feel at home. She often learns how to greet visitors in their own language, helping people feel seen, valued, and welcome from the moment they arrive. It’s a simple gesture that speaks volumes and reflects the heart of Storehouse.
Faithful, friendly, and full of kindness, Rachael has made a lasting impact on countless people over the years.
Thank you, Rachael, for your dedication, your warmth, and the many ways you help people feel seen, valued, and welcome.

🌟 Volunteers’ Week Spotlight 🌟
Today we’re celebrating some of the incredible volunteers who serve faithfully on our Warehouse and Van Team.
While many people never see the work they do, these volunteers play a vital role in helping Storehouse serve our community every day. Behind the scenes, they sort and organise donations, keep our food shop stocked, and make sure the right items are in the right place at the right time.
Our van team is constantly on the move, collecting donations from schools, businesses, and churches across the city, transporting stock between our warehouse and Storehouse Centre, and delivering furniture to individuals and families in need.
It’s a role that carries a huge amount of responsibility and requires commitment, teamwork, and plenty of hard work. Thanks to these volunteers, countless donations are received, processed, and distributed to people who need them most.
Thank you to every member of our Warehouse and Van Team. Your faithful service, often unseen by others, makes a real difference and helps everything else we do happen.

🌟 Volunteers’ Week Spotlight 🌟
Today we’re celebrating three of the wonderful volunteers who help make our weekly breakfast, Home, possible.
Pictured are Barbara, Pat, and Leah, hard at work in the kitchen on a Wednesday morning preparing a hot breakfast for up to 70 people from our community.
Barbara has been volunteering with us for around nine months and has quickly become a valued member of the team. Pat has faithfully served for almost six years, bringing commitment and care week after week. Leah is visiting from America for a few weeks and is no stranger to Storehouse, having joined us on two previous visits before returning again this year.
Every Wednesday, volunteers like Barbara, Pat, and Leah help create a warm welcome, good food, and a sense of community for everyone who comes through our doors.
Thank you all for your time, energy, and willingness to serve. We’re so grateful for everything you do!

Today we’re celebrating Sandile, one of the wonderful volunteers on our Thursday afternoon Provision team.
Sandile has been volunteering with Storehouse since February and has become a friendly and familiar face to many of the people who visit us. She especially enjoys serving on reception, where she helps welcome people into Storehouse and creates a warm, positive first impression.
Originally from Zimbabwe, Sandile brings kindness, enthusiasm, and a welcoming spirit to the team each week. Whether greeting visitors or helping things run smoothly during our Provision sessions, she is always ready to serve with a smile.
Thank you, Sandile, for all you do. We’re so grateful to have you as part of the Storehouse family!

From driving our van and working in the furniture warehouse, to mentoring others, shopping for food and bread, helping on reception, and even keeping things clean and tidy, Jim has always been willing to lend a hand wherever it’s needed.
Faithful, willing, and wonderful to have around, Jim is a valued part of the Storehouse family. Thank you, Jim, for over 11 years of service and for everything you do!

What a night 🎪✨
Last week, we had the privilege of taking 101 people from our Storehouse community to Tom Duffy’s Circus for a special night out together.
We are incredibly grateful to Tom Duffy’s Circus for generously donating every single ticket and making this possible. Their kindness created moments of joy, laughter, connection, and unforgettable memories for so many people in our community.
For many, this was more than just a trip to the circus — it was a chance to relax, smile, spend time together, and simply enjoy a special evening.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the night happen ❤️
A huge thank you to Lowden Guitars for donating two Ed Sheeran guitars to Storehouse!
Our guitar lessons are all about giving people in our community a place to learn, grow, and enjoy music together — and these beautiful instruments will make a real difference.
We’re so grateful for your generosity and support. The students are going to love them!

Last night at Volunteer Hub we had an honest and powerful conversation around addiction, recovery, and what it means to truly walk alongside people caught in difficult cycles.
As we listened to stories of lived experience and heard from services supporting those experiencing addiction, one theme kept coming through again and again — people need connection. Safe relationships. Community. Belonging.
“The opposite of addiction is connection.”
That truth sat at the heart of the evening and challenged us to continue creating spaces where every guest feels seen, valued, and supported.
Thank you to everyone who shared so openly and to every volunteer who continues to show up with compassion and care each week.
