Our Guide Hall is available for hire to regular community or fitness groups. We are volunteers and our hall is non-profit.

We're open to new hirers for kids clubs, adult groups and fitness groups and charity bookings. Availability during the day times, Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings and Sundays.

Prices start at £12 per hour for adult groups or £25 for a half day charity hire.

The work on the neighbouring building is almost complete so normal access will resume from January 2026.

Are you a local business owner? Maybe you run a community group or fitness class or you’re thinking out starting up a new class next term; did you know you can hire Battle Guide Hall up on the recreation ground? There’s a big central space, wooden floor and high ceiling if you want floor space, and kitchen with a ranger cooker and 2 WCs. We have 65 chairs and 12 6ft tables if you need a seated activity and our west facing doors open out onto the rec. There’s free parking for Rec & hall users and we have great availability for new hall hirers.

Every hirer helps to keep our hall going and keeps the costs low for all groups including our Girlguiding units who use the space each week.

Get in touch and chat to Victoria Wheeler about becoming a regular hirer, or a one off charity everyone.

Pavilion Café - Expressions of interest

Battle Town Council is inviting expressions of interest from individuals, businesses or community groups to operate the new Pavilion Café at Battle Recreation Ground, North Trade Road.

The café will open in January 2026 as part of the Council’s investment in new facilities at the Recreation Ground. The Pavilion includes a community space, clubroom, changing rooms, toilets, and a food preparation area with an external serving hatch.

The Council’s vision is for the Pavilion Café to provide:

- A welcoming hub for all Recreation Ground users, including families, dog walkers, sports teams and visitors.
- A social space that encourages health, wellbeing and community connection.
- A refreshment facility offering healthy, affordable options with an emphasis on Fairtrade and locally sourced produce.

Interested parties should review the guidance and complete the Expression of Interest form, accompanied by an outline business plan. Information can be found on the Council's website:

Keep up to date on the exciting new building project adjacent to the Guide Hall.

Guide Hall is not impacted by this work and we welcome regular hires for businesses or community groups.

🚧 We’re Getting Started! 🚧
The long-awaited Battle Sports Pavilion project is officially underway!

From Monday 19th May, Bellco Construction will begin setting up site at Battle Recreation Ground. This includes putting up timber hoarding and preparing for demolition of the existing pavilion — which will follow in the coming weeks.

This marks the start of an exciting journey to deliver a brand new community space, including:
✅ A café and club room
✅ Modern changing rooms & accessible facilities
✅ Secure basement storage for local sports clubs
✅ Solar panels, improved access, and a more welcoming space for all

🎠 Castle Play Park Access
To keep everyone safe:
🛑 The Castle Play Park will be closed on weekdays during demolition and groundworks (approx. 6 weeks)
✅ It will remain open on weekends
📆 Later this summer, the park will close for 2–3 days while a crane is on site — dates will be shared in advance

👀 Stay Involved!
We’ll be posting weekly updates and installing viewing windows so families and residents can safely watch progress.

🔐 Help Us Keep the Site Safe
This is a publicly funded project — any vandalism or damage could cost the whole town more money. Please report any suspicious behaviour to the police. Let’s protect this space together!

We’re proud to be part of something special for Battle — thank you for your support! 💙
