Alaa said yes to building a website before he knew how to build one.
He told that story last month, at our Future Builders graduation event, speaking to new students and fellow alumni.
What started as curiosity about tech became 3 scholarships, 8 freelance contracts and a cybersecurity internship since joining CodeBrave.
His advice to the room: never wait to feel ready before saying yes to an opportunity.
It’s exactly the kind of story that shows students what is possible once they start.
At 14, sent a job application no one expected a teenager to send.
The CodeBrave alumna told that story at our Future Builders graduation event.
She shared how a simple email and determination turned into her first ever internship.
Since joining CodeBrave, she’s earned a full scholarship to AUB, joined Tech Girls and completed more than 5 internships.
Now, she’s launched her own initiative .lb and is a STEM advocate for girls with UNICEF.

Their teacher lost her sight in an accident. So her students built her a way to cross the road safely.

Our Mount Lebanon students won the Judge’s Award at the National Coding Fair’s Do Your Bit Competition for their Inclusive Pedestrian Crossing: a prototype designed to listen, guide, and support people with visual impairments. Every design decision, every line of code, made for someone they love. 💙
And they did it through a year of war, closures, and disruption, they just kept building.

Students in Bekaa and Jbeil spent five hands-on days designing their own Smart Sustainable Cities, then bringing them to life with micro:bit programming.
What they built:
🚦 push-button crosswalk traffic lights
💡 street lamps that turn on in the dark
🌱 auto-irrigation that waters crops using soil-moisture sensors
🤖 their own AI models
This is not only about learning tech and AI, it’s mainly about solving real problems for the communities they belong to.

Yesterday we celebrated our Future Builders. Cohort 5 graduated and Cohort 6 launched, together in one room after a year of learning Web Dev and AI, nine months online followed by a three month internship with real clients. Our students met in person, traded advice, and welcomed the next cohort in. This is a growing community of young Lebanese builders. The event took place at Beirut Digital District (BDD) with our partners and friends in the room, Including Work At Murex , Beitelbaraka , and CME • Reimagine Everything.
Through a year of war and displacement, our students kept showing up to learn and build. In his keynote, Walid Mansour, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of MEVP , put it best: “You didn’t just survive it. You built something inside it.”

Their teacher has impaired vision. So they built her a way to cross the road safely.
A system that listens, guides, and helps people with visual challenges cross streets independently, built by public school students in Mount Lebanon, for the teacher who inspired them. They won the Judge’s Award at the National Coding Fair, where 12 CodeBrave students from four public schools competed alongside teams from across Lebanon and came home with two awards.

System change in education starts inside schools, not through isolated programmes.
We’re proud to share that CodeBrave has been shortlisted for hundrED ’s Global Collection 2027. Our innovation now moves into review by the HundrED Academy of over 250 education experts, with final results announced at the end of August.
This follows our earlier shortlisting in hundrED x VVOB’s Spotlight on Education for Societal Change, alongside 31 other organisations selected from 450 global submissions.
At CodeBrave, we embed Computer Science and AI inside Lebanon’s public and underserved schools, integrating it across core subjects like maths and science through hands-on, classroom-connected learning. The goal isn’t just digital skills. It’s learner agency and long-term opportunity.
