It’s a fantastic way to combine fitness, fun and fundraising, while raising awareness for a cause close to your heart. Charity teams also benefit from increased visibility and the chance to connect with the wider community on race day.

We’re proud to have Victoria’s Promise as our Official Charity for 2026, supporting women aged 25–50 diagnosed with cancer, as well as their families.

Join us for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing - an eye-opening film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like:

The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.
After the film there will be a short open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do locally.

Join our new nature conservation group at Daneshill Woodlands 🌳

We've created a new group with Natural Basingstoke at Daneshill Woodlands, in Lychpit, and are looking for volunteers from the local area.

You don't need any experience, and you can get involved as often as you like with activities including wildlife surveying, pond creation, coppicing, thicket thinning, removing invasive species and orchard maintenance.

The group will meet one weekend day per month, from 10am to 12pm, with the first meet on Saturday 19 September, at what 3 words location: helps.beyond.dined

From 10 September – World Su***de Prevention Day – to 10 October – World Mental Health Day, Basingstoke's own Mathew Holman is taking on an incredible challenge: 1 MILLION STEPS in just 31 days – around 500 miles!

But this isn’t simply about counting steps or raising money.

Mathew’s challenge is about mental health, su***de prevention, loneliness and, most importantly, human connection.

Born at Basingstoke Maternity Hospital in 1975, Mathew is proud to call Basingstoke home – and he wants the local business community to be part of this journey.

There are lots of ways businesses, teams and individuals can get involved:

🚶 Join Mathew for a walk – bring colleagues, friends or a team and walk some of those miles together.

👟 Host your own company walk – get your team away from their desks for 20 minutes, a lunchtime walk or a few miles after work. Mathew would love to join you if he can!

🤝 Sponsor the challenge – help with essential kit such as clothing, footwear, hydration and nutrition, or provide financial support.

📣 Spread the word – share the challenge with your employees, customers and networks.

And there’s no need to walk 500 miles. Just take a few steps with Mathew.
