You have until tomorrow to complete the Government survey on Pubco Reform. Please fill out the survey on this link. It takes about five minutes. This is about stopping pub owning companies from keeping all the profits from the beer sales while the pub Landlords earn a pittance. If you care about pubs and want to see the price you pay in a pub change PLEASE PLEASE do it. Thank you. http://www.fairdealforyourlocal.com/survey/

Here's a link to today's parliamentary inquiry on pub companies. I was asked to give evidence. It's a few hours long so if you don't want to watch the whole thing my bit starts at about 11am. Peter. http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Player.aspx?meetingId=13270&player=silverlight

A Poor Excuse? We don't think so... 10/06/2013

Statements from pub owners from the group I represent at Parliament, Licensees Supporting Licensees. These are publicans who couldn't attend last week's pubs rally and their reasons have been shared with MPs. It is sad and shocking reading. If you haven't yet signed up for Fair Deal For Your Local and done the survey then I hope you will after reading this.

A Poor Excuse? We don't think so... We asked members of Licensees Supporting Licensees (LSL) who couldn't attend the Fair Deal For Your Local Rally at Westminster on June 5th why they couldn't go - the following is a selection of res...

Do you want a fair deal for your local? It's really important to get lots of "likes" for this page as the "like" shows the government and the pubcos that people have had enough of being ripped off. We need as much support as possible. If there's not enough support and more pubs close people will reflect and think "I could've clicked a button", but it'll be too late then. Pubs in Basingstoke and across the country are struggling or have shut because of the corruption of greedy pub owning companies charging the Landlords high beer prices and high rents. More will shut unless something changes. Please click "like". Thank you.

Hello Way Inn Likers!

I'd like your help please to keep the profile of the Fair Deal For Your Local campaign high and ever present. We have one month left of the pubco consultation period and it’s really important that everyone takes part. Here are some things you can do:

Please go to the Fair Deal For Your Local page and “like” it.

https://www.facebook.com/FairDealForYourLocal

It’s important that the page has lots of “likers”. There are currently just over 400. We need to make sure everyone knows what is going on as there will be lots of things coming up. We want to show the govt (especially the Tories!!) and the industry (especially the pubcos!!) that there is lots of interest and support for the campaign and that we are an active force with an active voice and we want change!

Whether you are a publican or pubgoer, if you wish to support the campaign and would like more information to help you, you can get a campaign pack at this link:

http://pubaliciouspubs.wordpress.com/2013/05/11/fair-deal-for-your-local-campaign-pack/

Please add a Fair Deal For Your Local twibbon to your profile pic show that you support the campaign.

Please follow Fair Deal for Your Local on twitter and me . We will soon organise a specific time where we want all supporters to tweet and retweet posts with the hashtag so that we start trending on twitter and draw mass attention to the campaign.

Please also sign up to the Fair Deal For Your Local website:

Links to the Government consultation on pubco reforms are available on the FDFYL website and you can send in your own submission too. It is VITAL that people participate, whether you are current pubco tenants, former pubco tenants, or customers. EVERY contribution is important. Whether you run a pub, work in a pub or just enjoy going to the pub, EVERY piece of information and evidence you can supply on how you are being, or were, treated by your pubco, or how you think pubs should be treated, is essential.

We have fought for a chance to change things for years. By joining 'Licensees Supporting Licensees' I found support from many hundreds of publicans in the same position that I am in. I was honoured to be asked to represent the group at Parliament with 3 of my colleagues. We have now got our consultation. We have earned our place at the Government table. We cannot let this opportunity pass us by as we have ALL been asking for years for the chance to change how we have been treated. This is the time. We must not fail now. We cannot and must not get to the end of this consultation process and hear Ministers say “we didn’t get enough evidence from pubs or the public".

If you prefer to make your submission anonymously then do so, but please, please do the survey or send in your information to the consultation. Please do not let this opportunity for pubco reform become a missed opportunity.

If you want to send in a written submission please send it to Vince Cable at the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills on the following email address: [email protected]

We are also regularly submitting evidence to the national newspapers because they want to highlight how tenants, and therefore customers, are being ripped off. If you want to be part of this golden opportunity to change things, please get involved.

There are lots of things that we can all do. Thank you to everyone who has already helped in some way. If you haven’t had a chance to do anything yet please do it now. Do all, or do some, but please take part.

Thank you for your support.

Peter - Landlord, The Way Inn.
