Samba the Capybara who escaped from Marwell Zoo has been spotted in the back of our new electric Kia van!

We had a quick discussion about our new rate structures for this van before she made a quick dash again!

Hopefully she is found and returned safely to her sister soon 🐾

We would like to thank all of our staff for their service and customers for 2025, old and new. This was our best year yet and we are looking forward to 2026.

We are kick starting the year off by adding to our warehouse space and with the order of a new van after a successful demo this week.

Our UK and International Courier Service will have a wider range of carriers available to give customers more choice and with the usual integrations into our systems. The majority of carriers have updated their surcharges for 2026 and also the parameters that they apply to. We have been updating our systems behind the scenes to assist with these but please do ask us for any advice before shipping.

Our Air Freight service will continue to ship to many destinations worldwide. Our overseas agent list is growing in various countries to widen our network and these local agents can assist with any export/import shipments that may be needed. Let us know what your requirements are and we will find a solution, even if it is a hand carry or an air charter service.

Our Sea Freight service is a great option for customers who are looking to move larger shipments and when timescales aren’t so tight. We have seen a growing number of customers look at this as a viable option when ordering larger amounts of stock/equipment to ensure that they get the most for their money. We can arrange full container loads of all sizes and also consolidated services where required.

Our Dedicated Vehicle service within the UK and to/from Europe continues to grow. This is often the best option for goods that are time critical, high value or require less handling for various reasons. It can also work out more cost effective when taking everything into account. We arrange for all customs paperwork, transit documents and Carnets ourselves. A Carnet is still the best option for exhibition goods, concerts and filming as it does not require an importer on record in the destination countries and often saves time with less customs stops. This service isn’t just available for vans. We regular arrange for trucks of all shapes and sizes from a 7.5t Curtain side to Sliding Roof Trailers and even Low Deck Step Frame trailers to get around EU height restrictions.

We’ve decided to trial a hybrid van at Despatch Point, and after two weeks… the feedback has been good! 🚐⚡️

It’s already been to Scotland and back on far less petrol than expected — yes, petrol… we’re still getting used to saying that about a van!

We’re learning as we go, figuring out how to charge it and having conversations such as ‘how do you use this thing!?’, but so far, so good.

One large project for a valued customer is now loaded and on its way to Denmark. 🇩🇰

Due to limited storage space and loading capacity at the customer’s site, all items were either delivered directly to our warehouse by their suppliers or collected by our vans in multiple trips as they became ready.

Our team managed every stage — from packing and palletising the goods, building a detailed load plan, and arranging customs clearance under T1, to coordinating with our local agent for T1 closure and import customs.

A great example of how we keep every step under our control to ensure smooth and reliable delivery for our customers.

To ensure that both ourselves and our drivers stay compliant and within the laws of the road, we’ve had weighing systems installed in our vans. These will help to ensure that our vehicles are used to their full potential without going overweight. The systems monitor the load over each wheel in live time and show the gross weight and axle weight on the display so that the loads can also be positioned correctly.

Everyone loves a new van day 😅 Here’s our brand new Renault Trucks Master Optiloader suppplied by Allports Group

This is our second van supplied by themselves now and the new model has come on leaps and bounds. I think we know which one the drivers will be wanting to drive!

We’ve made a few changes to the standard specification and have had the internal layout adjusted and configured to suit the needs of our customers. With our input, a storage rack has been designed to keep 4 load bars secure whilst in transit. We’ve also had the red stripe on the front grill wrapped in our blue for a subtle change and our special 30 year logo put on the back. The large platform tail lift and rear opening allow taller items and cases to be loaded than a conventional Luton van can accommodate. We’re looking forward to getting it out on the road!

Last night Chris and Matt were privileged to be invited for a tour of DHLs East Midlands Hub. With Despatch Point being a Sales Partner of DHL, it was great to get an insight into the many processes involved behind the scenes. Thank you DHL dhlexpress

We’re pleased to have supported Hampshire Hospitals Charity today by transporting equipment to and from their Colour Run event. Chloe, Chris and Gwyn took part in the run today also raising over £200 towards this fantastic charity and their good causes.
