Being fully comprehensively qualified, she is able to offer tuition in the complete works of 'Joseph Pilates' in Mat-work, Reformer, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel, Stability Chair and Barrels. This includes resistance training for both males and females if they are able to provide a home gym. Beginning her fitness career in 1990, she has worked extensively as a Studio Instructor teaching a variety of class disciplines including Step, Spinning and Body Pump. She has been a Personal Trainer, a Studio Co-ordinator, a Gym Instructor and held a Fitness Manager role for 10 years at Canary Wharf Health Club. Nicole has presented her classes nationally and internationally and also worked in Malta for 3 years managing a prestigious hotel studio. Teaching Mat-work Pilates since 2000 and Equipment Pilates since 2007, she certified with the internationally recognised 'Stott' Pilates in 2010 for apparatus and 2001 for Mat-work. She has also trained with Polestar, another high standard training provider. Attending new courses and workshops to keep abreast of current trends and new research has always been paramount to Nicole. Health and Fitness is a fast moving, ever changing industry so she is committed to keeping her knowledge as up to date as possible. She has worked within a physiotherapy practice and continues to liase with various Physios, Osteopaths and Chiropractors with regard to her clients issues and needs. Nicole has completed all the modules needed to gain her 'Womens Wellness Specialist' qualification which cover Pilates applications for the following :Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions ,Symphasis Pubis Dearrangement,C section recovery, Healing Exercises for Diastasis Recti, Menopause, Osteoporosis, Stress Urinary Incontinence, Pre and Post Natal. Nicole has also qualified to teach Pilates applications for Scoliosis, Breast Cancer Rehab (Pink Ribbon Program), Multiple Sclerosis, Foot Mechanics and Foot conditions, Stroke and Parkinson's. In addition to these, Nicole specialises in Myofascial release techniques and Trigger Point work using vibrating foam rollers and spiky balls. She offers Sports Specific exercises, Back Care, Injuries and Special Populations, Athletic Conditioning, Golf enhancement and general fitness. She is also a 'Buff Bones' safe programming instructor, a menopause mentor and nutrition advisor. Nicole holds many fitness qualifications including ACSM Exercise Physiologist, RSA Exercise to Music and Stott Full Cert. She is a REPS level 3 Instructor and a member of the following: FITPRO, ASCM, REPS, M-Bodies, Pilates Union UK, Pilates Teacher Association. Nicole will conduct a postural analysis and devise a workout around correcting any asymmetries to rebalance and re-align the body. She will ensure that the workout is effective but above all, safe for your body type. Working on a one-to-one basis or in a very small group setting gives a more personal experience and allows for more attention to detail to each individual, catering for their abilities and restrictions. A peri or post menopausal body can differ from a pre menopausal one in light of bone density changes and this has to be considered when offering loaded flexion type exercises within a session. With the increase in 'Pilates Reformer' studios opening up, it is worth bearing in mind that a lot of these studios are not using the reformers for the exercises that 'Joseph Pilates' intended them to be used for. Reformer Pilates seems to be the buzz word at the moment and whilst there is a market for these type of classes, the Pilates principles are often never taught or lost in the fast paced, high rep, HIIT type workouts. This will encourage poor technique and could lead to bad posture, overuse injuries, bad backs and incorrect engagement of specific muscles. Many of the instructors will only have completed a weekend course with a non reputable body. "As the owner of Exclusive Pilates and a Pilates Practitioner of 23 years, I really must make the distinction between these bigger studios catering to bigger class numbers and smaller studios like Exclusive Pilates. We have had the joy of watching all our clients begin and thrive. We cater to and observe no more than 6 clients at a time (currently 3 at Exclusive Pilates) therefore we know everyone's physical limitations and strengths and modify accordingly. We have had many years of experience and are mostly comprehensively qualified where not only are we familiar with all the apparatus but also have to study injuries and special populations. We are intuitive to know when someone is struggling in the middle of an exercise and give modifications or to encourage a client to move up in their practice when its deemed the right time.
