🔧 A bit of TLC for Hasty, having worked every weekend for the last month and the half term holiday.

🛢️All filters, oil etc…change and a good old check over to make sure all is well.

🚂 Pleased to report all went well and Hasty is ready for service when required.

Thank you Ropley Miniature Railway for the continued loan of Hasty.

🚧 Also took delivery of 2 flat wagon frames from Ruislip Lido Railway. Many thanks to the team there. These will be very useful for winter maintenance. 🙏🏻

Join us at Basildon Miniature Railway for a delightful day out this school holiday!

We’ll be running trains on the following days over the long weekend and half term (23rd May to 28th May):

🚂 Ever fancied driving a train?

We’re looking for a few more volunteer hands at Basildon Miniature Railway—especially for weekdays during school holidays over the summer.

If you’ve driven before, brilliant 🤩
If not, that’s fine too—we can train you!

It’s a great way to spend a few hours outdoors, meet people, and be part of keeping a much-loved local railway running 🚂

Even helping out occasionally makes a real difference.

🚂 After a month out of operation, Cornish Pixie is repaired and awaiting her test runs.

Hasty will be running the service tomorrow from 11am until 4pm. Before going off for a well earned rest and annual service over the next few weeks.

🛠️ You maybe wondering why you haven’t seen our Cornish Pixie out and about for the last few weeks. She’s been a little poorly, requiring some TLC. We hope to have her back out and about hauling trains again in the next few weeks. 🚂

🚂 Hasty will be in action all bank holiday weekend, ready to give you a ride!

Our other locomotive, Cornish Pixie, is currently undergoing repairs and will be back soon.

We will be open 11am until 4pm.
