There are 2 reasons why I’m a low maintenance hair colourist.

I’m busy, I know you are too. As much as a salon visit is good for the soul. Mine and yours, those appointments can come round a little too quickly. Sometimes making it feel like a chore. Low maintenance hair colour services give you longer between appointments.

2..
My favourite, you can love your hair for longer. Seeing that root line after a few weeks, trying to last until your next appointment. Planning appointments around special occasions knowing you only like your hair when it’s just been done. Low maintenance hair colour services blend out beautifully. So over time you still love your colour.

Here my client had a yellowish blonde with a large root. She likes salon visit every 6 months to a year. Her last service wasn’t working. I blended her root, still keeping her blonde but using her natural colour to create dimension. All in time for her brother’s wedding.

Anyone can have a lower maintenance colour. It’s about bringing your natural colour and your hair goal together and finding a middle ground that works. 💜

You know that feeling…. when you first have your hair done and you love it. Then a couple of weeks go past and you start seeing that line at your root. A couple more weeks pass and your highlights are starting go yellow, you’re reaching for the purple shampoo! Or your roots are bothering you that much that you’re applying root powders to last you to your next appointment. Or you have a special occasion so you have a root refresh done or chuck a colour on it yourself!

It’s a bit like that but after 2 weeks you still love your hair. A few more weeks go past and yes still loving it. That’s the terminology.

Wherever you are on this scale is absolutely fine if you are happy there. No judgement!

Everyone needs to maintain their hair with trims and treatments. A good home hair care routine at the very least.

But when it comes to colour you choose where you want to be.

The bottom line..
The more of your naturally root you like the more low maintenance you can be.

However..
If you enjoy hair colour and like to change it up from time to time, and just love your salon visit for some you time. Enjoy it. And sit wherever works for you on the hair colour maintenance scale.

Blonde is NOT the answer!..

A lot of my grey blends involve adding depth back into the hair.

You may have been told for years that when the greys come along you cover them or go blonde.

Simple.. right?

This advice doesn’t fit any more, we are blending for an easier life and a better result.

I look at your natural root. If there’s dark still in there we need to add depth in to get you that blend.

You can still appear blonde with a bit of depth at the root for your blend. Having lighter hair in the right places and depth where it’s needed will be a beautiful result.

All grey blends are different.

Not only is your root growth different with greyer in places and darker in others, the amount of grey you have will be different and where on your head it’s growing from.

Then add your starting point. We are talking years of colouring. Your hair history isn’t the same as anyone else’s.

And on top of that your hair behaves differently to anyone else’s.

That’s a lot of variables..

To achieve a grey blend it’s going to take extensive correcting work.

So putting that into a single service, or booking in multiple services in the salon is very unpredictable.
