Round 2 of the BDOC club championship at Grampian Kart Club. Another fantastic organised & run event. Around 80 drivers competing this weekend in our strongly growing grids 💪
Another mega weekend for us, taking a haul of points in the championship and building our lead in the driver standings.
A strong grid of fast drivers and guest appearance from Bradley Philpot testing his driving abilities in his first full race weekend in a KZ gearbox kart.
Pleased to take the overall win and enjoying the on track battles over the weekend.
Thanks to all the GKC crew, volunteers & marshals ❤️
Already looking forward to next round 🏎️ 💨

A great start to the season at Grampian Kart Club. Kicked off with a win after 5 months out of the seat.
A hard fought battle on Sunday, lots of quick drivers competing on the BDOC, what a fantastic championship we are in for this season.
Big shout out to GKC, lots of preparation put into this event, healthy grid numbers and a friendly place to race. See you next month 🙌
Well done a to all competitors racing today 🏆
and all the masrshals and volenteers the made it happen ❤️
Great coverage at Grampian Kart Club last weekend.

Reflecting back on a weekend of severe bad luck! We have never had a weekend like it in all our years of karting!
Massive thanks Andy & Ian for their help and suport, keeping us going with engine bits!
We take the positives: had good pace in wet/damp conditions and then in the dry for the final.
Results were not what we’re capable of, but the experience gained was valuable.
Thanks to all at East of Scotland Kart Club & Northern Karting Federation for an excellent organised and run event.

What a weekend at Grampian Kart Club! A bit of a summer social where the club hosted a “free to enter” race meeting, attracting healthy sized race grids across all categories. A lot of preparation and hard work by the committee to make this weekend fun and entertaining for all. Well done GKC and thank you! Hopefully we’ll see a return of those competitors that are not regulars at the track.
In the KZ category, we had brilliant close racing. 15 gearbox karts on the grid, including 3 historic’s.
Kart & engine set-up tricky in the hot conditions, but we managed to find something that worked and gave us an edge. Delighted to win the GKC Grand Prix and also be awarded with the Andrew Borton cup (in memory of a much treasured former Chairman that did so so much for the club).
Results.

After a short break from karting to concentrate on my exams, we were back this weekend to race at Grampian Kart Club BDOC round 3.
Saturday practice was a learning curve - trying to get motors and chassis dialled as we have only done minimal testing on the Wright Chassis. We found something that seemed to work right a the end of the day, after lots of tweaking!
Sunday racing was immense! A grid of 16 KZ2 and 3 historics in the mix!
Mixed grids in the heats:
9th - 1st 🥇 ⏱️ fastes lap!
2nd - 1st 🥇⏱️ fastest lap!
5th - 1st 🥇 ⏱️ fastest lap!
Final:
Pole - win🥇⏱️ fastest lap 🏎️ 💨
A clean sweep 🧹
Delighted to pick up my first podium in KZ category.
Massive thanks to all at Grampian Kart Club, another great event!
Now for another short break…..back again in July to hopefully pick up where we left off.

Well done GKC for a very well organised and run event. The club is moving in the right direction and a great atmosphere in the paddock 🙌
