We have recently put forward a redevelopment proposition for the new owners of St George’s and we are genuinely excited about what it could mean for Axminster.
Our vision is straightforward. A complex of affordable high quality premises designed for independent shops, customer facing professionals and a wide variety of complementary uses. Spaces that work hard for local businesses and spaces people feel proud to trade from.
Architecturally we have reworked the concept in the timeless style of the Dawkins building circa 1920. It is a look that sits comfortably alongside many of Axminster’s historic premises and carries confidence, character and longevity. Traditional proportions and detailing combined with modern construction standards and quality materials.
Internally the buildings would be fully air conditioned and designed for year round efficiency. Comfortable, economical and future ready. Carefully managed and properly overseen because that is what we do.
For this to truly succeed collaboration is essential. We would welcome the council supporting meaningful infrastructure improvements including changes to lorry routes, significantly wider pavements and a reduction in on street parking to create a safer and more welcoming environment for pedestrians and businesses alike.
Our architect Peter Selhurst of Selhurst Design understood the brief immediately even from the simplest outline and the concept now reflects exactly what we hoped it could be.
This could mark the beginning of significant positive change in Axminster.

While working on a pitch for the new custodians of St George’s, we recently came across a beautiful old sepia photograph of Edwin Dawkins’ original shop, which we estimate dates from around 1905 to 1920.
The image captures a moment in Axminster’s commercial history when shopfronts were proud, detailed and full of character. Out of curiosity and respect for the original structure, we used AI to carefully colourise the image — not to alter it, but to imagine how it may have looked in its day. Soft off white elevations, crisp window frames and strong, confident shopfront tones brought the building back to life.
What struck us most was not just the architecture, but the sense of ambition. Even then, this was a town that invested in its appearance and presence.
We have uncovered several more historic images through our work which we will share over the coming weeks. They tell a story of craftsmanship, enterprise and civic pride.
Axminster has all the ingredients of an exceptional market town — heritage, proportion, individuality and the ability to evolve without losing identity. Sometimes it just takes looking back to see what is possible going forward.

Five years ago today we just made the deadline — finishing the conversion of Trinity House in time for Waffle’s opening. What a project, what a building, and what a journey it’s been.
From those early conversations and sketches to seeing Waffle thriving in the heart of Axminster, it’s amazing to look back at how far it has come. A fabulous team effort all round, and a huge happy birthday to Waffle on reaching this milestone.
Here’s to many more successful years in Trinity House and to the continued growth of our wonderful town.

Too early?! NEVER. Our office team decided to brighten up a wet and miserable Friday with a healthy dose of festive spirit. Mince pies out, Christmas songs on and the tree is up… even the doorbell’s been changed to a ‘deck the halls’ jingle 🤪😂. Some of us may have questioned their sanity but it turns out that fairy lights really do make everything better - even our lovely little office!
We know Light Up Axminster isn’t for another couple of weeks but what can we say, we love to be ahead of the crowd! 41 sleeps to go! 💪🏻🎄

Congratulations to some of our newest tenants WBW Solicitors who are firmly settled in to their Blackdown Chambers on Weycroft Avenue in Axminster. We’ve worked with their team from the very first viewings to help bring their Axminster and Chard offices together with into a modern, flexible space that supports them and their clients.
Today was their open reception and we were pleased to speak to members of their team to see how the space was now working in practice, and sample their wonderful hospitality of course! Two of the Axminster Property team’s great loves in one lunchtime; happy tenants and a beautiful buffet 😉🥰💪🏻

Rolling (or rather, laying) out the carpet this week for our newest tenants… WBW Solicitors.
They’re bringing two of their existing teams, Axminster and Chard, together in their new home at Unit 10, Weycroft Avenue in Axminster. The multi-storey offices, which will be known as Blackdown Chambers, have been fully renovated by our team to ensure a modern, welcoming work environment suitable for the WBW team and their ever growing client base.
From our side, we’ve worked with the previous tenants to ensure their new space is fit for their current needs, the landlord to ensure long term, sustainable return on their investment property, and our new tenants to bring their vision to a reality. We get a real kick out of seeing projects like this come together after months of hard work - property and its management is what we do best 💪🏻
