Has been a lovely tailpiece to the week, starting to reframe the main building of the property.

Very thankful to be able to enjoy my craft throughout this build. Has been a great week!🌻🔨

Gable roof starting to go up in the cotswold's!
3 vehicle garage with living space under this 47° pitch roof. Short rafter feet to match existing listed stone buildings on this farm.

Great fun, look forward to finishing this Gable next week, once the other couple rooms joists are all in!

Mid week update up in cotswold's. Floor joists in for garage, ready for sheathing. Tricky getting timber up with one's self but great to be outside focusing on some first fix woodwork in the Sunshine!
Gable cut roof to go on this structure very soon! 🌞🛠️

Rejuvenating this decking that is now raised off the ground!
4mm spacing between each decking board for airflow and to allow water to pass through instead of resting on the surface.
Charring the bottom of the legs to preserve the timber, coating with oil.
no need for massive amounts of concrete, far more enjoyable learning old traditional methods!

Changing twelve doors into fire doors for a client in Crowthorne, before the house goes on the market!

Using secondhand fire doors and re-using all existing locks, k***s, door stops, etc. Only thing new was of course, hinges!
Loads of preparation trying to minimise as much tidy ups at the end as possible. 😆

Things like:
~Were the firedoors first used for opening inwards or outwards?
~Door k**b on left or right?
~Were the latch mechanisms single or double for a lock?

So was a case of trying to match up as many doors as possible for existing door frames before chiseling away for new hinges.

Very rewarding few days down in Crowthorne~🛠️🌻

Stud wall framing, door lining's and a couple of doors hung for a happy customer in Cirencester.
Correct gap for flooring to be fitted with just enough left for airflow!
All ready for plasterboard, architrave etc.

Lovely day chiseling away in the Sunshine this Wednesday! 🌞🛠️
