🌳 APF Team Tree Climbing Challenge 2026 🌳
Sponsored by Solidur and Teufelberger, the APF Team Tree Climbing Challenge is back at APF 2026 at Ragley Estate, Alcester, Warwickshire, on 23, 24 and 25 September.

Think you and your climbing partner have what it takes? A competition tree will be set with 10 work stations, with anchor points positioned to give access to every station and climbing ropes pre-installed.

The challenge is simple: ring all the bells as quickly — and as safely — as you can. Points will be deducted for unsafe acts, including uncontrolled swings, failing to clip up the lanyard between work stations, or falling on landing.
The winning team will be the one that achieves the most scoring points in the fastest time.
🏆 Prizes will be awarded for the fastest time each day, plus an overall prize for the fastest time across all three days.

🌲 Inspiring the Next Generation of Foresters and Arborists 🌲

The APF Show is a fantastic educational resource, giving school children and the wider public a real insight into what happens in a modern working woodland.
Once again, we’re proud to be working with the Royal Forestry Society to offer local schools the unique opportunity to visit the show and take part in a guided tour, showing children everything from seed to sawmill. The RFS also runs its excellent Teaching Trees and Young Forester schemes, alongside the Forester Roots programme, which helps school leavers find jobs in the industry.

We know that school budgets are tight, and finding the money for transport can be a real challenge. That’s why the APF Show is helping to remove this obstacle by offering up to £300 per school towards transport costs. Our goal is to welcome 800 children to the show.

After the guided tour, children will be able to enjoy all the fantastic events on site. They can even have a go at tree climbing with rope and harness and try their hand at some traditional woodland crafts.

We want to show young people that a career in forestry or arboriculture can be fun, exciting, and challenging, while also delivering huge benefits for the environment. 🌍🌳

Get ready for one of the brand-new attractions at this year’s show — an exciting winching competition! As well as the main event, there will be live demonstrations of portable winches and a great opportunity to meet the manufacturers, ask questions, and discover more about their impressive machines

This month, we’ve upgraded our online ticketing to a much more automated and sophisticated system.
The same system will also be used for gate ticket sales and links automatically with our ticket scanners, which we hope will help speed up your entrance to the show.

When you buy your tickets online, you can either download the ticket and QR code to your phone or print it out. If you lose your ticket, simply log in again to download another copy, along with a VAT invoice.

When you buy in advance you save £5 compared with buying a ticket at the gate. There are also further discounts available for group tickets (10+) and for two and three-day tickets which are only available in advance.

One of the standout features of the APF Demo is the sheer number of events and competitions on offer.
APF 2026 is set to introduce two brand new features:
Firstly, a UK Loggers training workshop, where participants can gain hands-on experience in the five disciplines featured in the World Logging Championships, and, for the very first time, a Tractor and Winch competition designed to challenge and assess the skills and safety of winch operators.
