There are a number of window entries that the Mayor and his Consort thought deserved special mention when they were judging the Alcester Window Wanderland festival last week. It highlights the tremendous effort made by all entrants and the extremely high quality of the wonderful windows.
The Mayor and his Consort would like to give the following a special mention:
1. Moris Mica, Swan Street, Alcester - whose fabulous colourful window display of birds was created by students at Alcester Grammar School. The poem is especially poignant for this year's theme, hope.
2. 22 Henley Street - the pictures are so intricately cut out to create wonderful detail and an atmosphere of light and hope.
3. 80 Alauna Avenue - this window is bright, colourful and full of characters signifying strength, determination and courage.
Very well done to you all, and to all of this year's entrants.
There will be more pictures posted early next week of some additional windows that the Mayor and his Consort wanted to give a special mention.
For all our entrants - thank you all for taking part - for all the hours you have spent creating, cutting and sticking, and for sharing the wonders of your imagination and interpretation of HOPE.
We hope residents have enjoyed walking the trail to see all of the amazing entries for 2026 - you still have until tomorrow to enjoy them. Maps are available at the Library or to download via the link below -

Last night the Mayor of Alcester, Cllr David Henderson, and his Consort, Mrs Lesley Henderson, spent a most enjoyable evening walking around Alcester to judge the entrants for this year's Alcester Window Wanderland event. They both commented on how joyous and heartwarming it was to see so much light and imagination on display around the town.
There were no particular categories for the entrants, so the Mayor and his Consort decided on a number of winners. All the winners will receive a small prize next week, and all Window Wanderland entrants will receive a special certificate for taking part.
Winner of the best domestic / private residence goes to 1 Alcocks Road for this fantastic display...Congratulations!
