Well this was supposed to be a simple let out the trousers job...until I actually went to work on them.

Found a bad previous alteration job (not by me), and a missing belt carrier (second and third pics)
Think I made it as good as I can(first pic)! Used the singular belt carrier and with a bit of jiggery pokery made it into a matching pair.

Another winter coat ready for the approaching season.

Raid the backs of your ward robes and understairs cupboards, pull out your coats and check them over for rips and tears; most can be repaired and for the fraction of the cost of a new coat.

Autumn Wedding season and what a glorious colour for these bridesmaids, perfect for the time of year.
All altered and ready to go.

When the trip of a lifetime to see the eldest Goddaughter get married, becomes a bus man's holiday and you end up shortening the Groom's and groomsmen's trousers 48 hrs before the wedding......any more alterations before the big day?

This morning's job.....'tis the season to pull coats out of the cupboard

Finally the wedding that has occupied my life for the past couple of weeks.
2 brides double the fun, double the work!

The bridesmaids were a quick turn around due to the originals (ordered else where) not being the correct colour and trying to source the right fabric and colour in a tight 1 month turn around.
Both brides needed alterations. And we did fittings on the hottest day ever!

But I was happy to provide a dressing service on the day (running between two rooms) getting a total of 2 Brides, 4 Bridesmaids, 4 Bridesmens, 2 Fathers of the Brides and a Mother of 1 Bride, dressed, buttonholes in place and ready for the main event.

What a pleasure to work for this lovely couple's wedding.🥰

Well its a wrap on prom season 2023 for my little busy Thimble. What a delightful, polite set of young ladies i have altered dresses for this year...every dress was a different challenge and not one simple hem amongst them (I like challenges, just not all together😏).

My sewing machines need a break and a quick once over before the summer/autumn wedding season hits.

When you are up to your ears getting prom dresses👗👗👗 ready for delivery and the iron (thats not even a year old) decides it no longer wants to work and the shop you got it from closed 5 minutes ago!! 🙄

Prom season is full steam ahead...forgive me if I'm slower than normal getting back to you as I'm head down, and my foot is flat out on the old sewing machine...if I have your dress already I'll be in touch once its done.
One of today's projects saw me adding extra 'scaffolding' (boning) to a sheer dress. The existing boning was not sufficient and now extends all the way up into the bracup panel.
