Did you write a song her son asked
Yes I did his mother answered
A song of a bridge and damsel ,a shirt and a Knight
Did you write a song her son asked
Yes I did his mother replied
Of a sunny day and a bridge in a town south ..way down south
Set in a time long long ago .
Did you write a song her son asked
Once more she said Yes I did
Of a time of chivalry ,of battles won and battles lost
A song where love won through
Of a maiden seeing her true love once more wearing the shirt she washed under a bridge in town south ..way down south
I fell upon your words
While scrolling through
Mindless posts
I fell upon your words whilst eating my tea
Put my utensils down and read
Read such honestly of broken dreams.
Of missed opportunities
Now far away you awake to a new reality upon the urban streets when once it was a field village ...a quiet town
Places where you were outsider ..misunderstood perhaps muddled
Be happy
Just be happy
You've found your place
The Patten
Today the same
As yesterday
Up and wash
Open door and see
The trees look the same
The flowers ( what's left of them ) still stand
Porridge and coffee on the tray
Today's the same
As yesterday
Coffee at ten thirty or was it forty ?
Then what to do ...the choice is yours
It really doesn't matter if
Today's the same as yesterday
At least for a bit
I wrote this quickly following a conversation with a mutual friend about this rich diverse town we find ourselves in where Im sure if you did toss a pebble ever so gently it might just might fall at the feet of an artist ..musician or poet
I hope those who take the time to read enjoy the words like I do .I wrote the title on a tissue so I didn't forget it whilst at an excellent gig at the Bank Vault Aberystwyth
I'm not quite sure about the ending though
Toss the pebble
Let it land
Bet your last penny it will fall
By the feet of a budding artist with paint π¨ brush and easel in the hand
Who will paint and express the beauty of that little pebble from the sea you did toss so gently
Toss the pebble
Let it land
By the feet of the busker who has stood so often by that shop next to where the bakers used to be
He would grab his lunch and play some more
He stops and stares and sings of that small pebble upon the shore as waves wash over then does see the coins fall making his fortune for that day
Toss the pebble and watch it fall ever so close to the lady of spoken word .
She looks down taking pen to paper as she writes of a long lost friends and wonders ..just wonders where did they go oh where did they go just like a pebble upon the shore

Which one to press for you?
My new acquaintance
Surely not love so soon my new friend
It's far far far .... You get my drift ...too soon
I've lost me π
Have you seen my hat
It's dark blue this side and light blue
that side
It was safely upon my head as little one and I πΆββοΈ and talked
Along the path past a bakery ..yum those π looked good
As Mamgu raised the hood
It was really rather sunny
Hey ...let's find a π°
In amongst those trees
Where there is a cooling breeze
Stop ! Traffic lights
The light turned red as we both remembered our lovely slumber in our bed(s)
Little one's hat had strawberries all over it
Yum strawberries π and cream
Now that's a lovely dream
Upon returning perhaps I put my hat on dollies head
In amounst the bricks .Near Blueys Dad or parked it by the toy π train
I just wish I'd used my brain
To remember where I really put my hat !
Joys of being a mangu

Ive written this today
When inspiration hits like a bolt
To then settle ever so gently upon the page
The canvas
Within
Your heart ,
your mind
The angry words
Mellowed with a hush
Retracted ...with a few slow breaths
Words returned as though never spoken or expressed
Time softens everything
Kindness is softness it self
Those who listen choose only empathy and love β€οΈ
I read this at the Climate Shop today to test the waters so to speak .A friend liked references to the incidentals ..the coffee cups and ash trays
To think a couple of years of ago I was all for giving up writing more words ..Glad I didn't.
I don't use flowery language....simple words work just as well
A Blue Book
I have a book
A blue book with a beautiful soft cover
Inside the glass blower creates movement, a thing of beauty as he moves
Notes of music theory upon the second
Turn the book over and words appear
Telling tales of glasses chosen with cocktails enjoyed whilst the sun is setting
Red headed mums with children in tow
A piano in a darkened room with a stool beside it awaiting the player of the keys
The hat upon the table
An ashtray full of stubs ...abandoned
Coffee cups left on the floor..several chipped
A green scarf left by the visitor with a bus pass
A poem of memories reminds the author of times spent along a river bank
Words flow like the water under a bridge ever evolving ,ever changing ....
