BREAK THE STIGMA

For too long, many men have felt they need to keep their struggles to themselves.

To stay strong.
To keep going.
To deal with it alone.

But mental health challenges don't discriminate, and talking about how you're feeling is never a sign of weakness.

In fact, speaking up takes courage.

A conversation with a friend, family member, colleague or support group could be the first step towards getting the support you need.

Let's continue to challenge the stigma around men's mental health and create a culture where men feel safe to talk, ask for help and know they don't have to face things alone.

Because talking changes lives.

As academic term comes to an end, we want to reflect what's been achieved over the last few months of collaboration between Nescol and Men in Mind

The working relationship between both groups has been brilliant! Building connections, supporting our community, and showing what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose. We’ve been proud to work side by side, creating real impact where it matters most.

This is only the beginning. We’ve laid strong foundations woth staff and students this term, and we’re already looking ahead to build on them next term! Bigger things are coming, and we’re excited to keep growing, supporting, and strengthening our place in the community.

To all the staff and students that have supported us since February, in both Fraserburgh and Altens, enjoy your summer! We're looking forward to seeing some new and familiar faces in August!

At Men In Mind , we are incredibly fortunate to have some amazing people working behind the scenes to help make what we do possible.

A huge thank you to Craig Elwood at The Drive at Haddo, whose commitment, support and hard work on a Tuesday evening have helped create a welcoming space where men can come together, talk, and support one another.

Thank you to Susan Byers, who puts in countless hours helping with administration, organisation and event planning. So much of what we do simply wouldn't happen without her dedication and attention to detail.

And a special mention to Margaret Dunbar, our number one advocate. Margaret continually champions what we do, spreads awareness of our group, and supports our mission at every opportunity. Her belief in Men in Mind and the positive impact it has on our community means more than words can say.

People often see the meetings and events, but it's the incredible individuals behind the scenes who help make it all happen. We are truly grateful for everything Craig, Susan and Margaret do for Men in Mind.

Thank you all for being part of the journey. 💙
